No. He's not defrauding anybody in that it's not a "campaign event". He's not on an "Obama 2012" event and he's not out asking people for their votes.

Pragmatically, every appearance he makes from now until 2012 is going to be tied to his campaign.

There is some nuance there, but I am sure you can handle it. As it stands, traveling around the country and trying to get Americans energized about the economy and his agenda is the prerogative of the President and he's hardly the first to do this.

Yes, thats exactly what a good president would do. He publicly stated that the reason he doesnt do this is because all congress would do is bicker. As if it would be any different after the vacation time? He has 0 plans to lead on this issue. He is hoping congress does nothing and after the gridlock sets in the across the board cuts will kick in and he wont have to do any of the hard work of making the reals choices.
