Obama is on a political "energy tour" stopping today in Oklahoma as gas prices continue to soar.....he's claiming support of the Keystone pipeline....as he now is in 'support' of building the Ok to Texas segment....does this mean he is now "pro-oil".......?

(he has still NOT approved the northern part of the Keystone pipeline...)

CUSHING, Okla., March 22 (UPI) -- U.S. President Obama said Thursday he has ordered approval of the southern part of the Keystone pipeline from Oklahoma to the Gulf Coast.

The president spoke to a crowd at the Cushing Pipe Yard in Cushing, Okla.
....
Brendan Buck, a spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said the president's Cushing announcement was "like a governor personally issuing a fishing license."

"This portion of the pipeline is being built in spite of the president, not because of him," Buck said.

Liberal-speak can be confusing. Maybe it'll help if you keep in mind something as innocuous sounding as pro-choice means for death.

With Steve Chu and his vision of gas prices should mirror those of European gas prices and with Obama appointing him to the Secretary of Energy position speaks a lot more volume than this election year stunt by our president.

Last night, Dear Ruler stayed in the hotel across the street from my office. My parking garage is attached to the hotel and it was on lockdown this morning, so he cost me $6 to go park elsewhere for a couple of hours until he was gone. He can make his little "energy tour" (campaign), if he wants to, but the people here in Oklahoma are having none of the BS he is serving.

He isn't approving squat as indicated in this Bloomberg piece.

Obama

"Since the Cushing phase doesn’t cross an international border, it doesn’t require permission from the U.S. Department of State and president, as the full project did. The Obama administration released a statement in February saying the White House will “take every step possible to expedite the necessary federal permits.”

Obama’s new designation of the pipeline as an infrastructure priority was dismissed by Republicans as political window dressing on a project that’s already well under way to deflect criticism Obama has received for refusing to approve the northern segment of TransCanada’s line.

Obama was “trying to take credit for part of the pipeline that doesn’t even require his approval,” Boehner, on Ohio Republican, told reporters at his weekly news conference in Washington. “This idea that the president is going to expedite this will have no impact on the construction of this pipeline.” "

Here is a message from Oklahoma's 4 largest independent energy producers to Obama to mark his campaign....I mean energy tour stop.

Energy chiefs' message: Actions, not words, will determine energy future | NewsOK.com

"The paradigm shift in American oil and gas exploration and production is the brightest spot in our struggling economy. Keeping it going requires understanding of some critical business realities:

Approval of the entire Keystone XL pipeline should happen now — not after the election. Yes, we are pleased TransCanada decided to build a critical section of the project from Cushing to the Gulf Coast. We note that this section doesn't require State Department approval. However, America's greatest benefit will come when we can transport oil from our best energy partner, Canada, and oil-rich North Dakota and Montana........

.........
The newfound abundance of oil and gas in America creates for the first time in 50 years the opportunity to break OPEC's headlock on the American economy and reinvigorate America's industrial foundation.

Mr. President, your words suggest you want the economic benefits American natural gas and oil can deliver. We hope your actions follow suit — to date they have not."
