OBAMACARE HHS ABORTION PILL MANDATE DEALT SERIOUS BLOW; VICTORY FOR PEOPLE OF FAITH

"Alliance Defending Freedom has just secured the first victory against Obamacare’s HHS Mandate that forces a Christian family to either comply with the mandate and violate their religion or forfeit their livelihood."

"Oddly, the government argued that the Newlands forfeited their constitutional rights when they started their family business. But Christians or other people of faith do not lose their God-given right to religious freedom when they earn a living. Fortunately, the court did not accept such an outrageous position."

Herein lies the problem with government trampling Constitutional rights and liberties as opposed to ensuring their integrity.
Any bets on the dollar amount that will be wasted just on the stream of litigation we're embarking on?

Obama’s Birth Control Mandate Takes Effect - August 1st

The Obama administration’s birth control mandate took effect Wednesday, granting an estimated 47 million women access to free contraception and a raft of preventive health services.

As of Aug. 1, new or renewing health insurance plans are required to provide birth control to women at no out-of-pocket cost. Houses of worship are exempt and religious nonprofits get a one-year reprieve, as well as the option to pass the cost to the insurance company.

in fact - "granting an estimated 47 million women access to free contraception and a raft of preventive health services" - is now the Law of the Land.

You can have your free birth control without forcing those with faith to provide it. You've had that provision for years now.
We'll see how this one plays out. But for now, the mandate in this particular case is currently in a holding pattern.
:)

i agree nothing is free if that will dispel that argument -

You can have your free birth control without forcing those with faith to provide it.

no one is requiring those who believe against birth control from accepting the benefits - nor should those who's beliefs oppose the same should be allowed to prevent those of a different opinion from gaining access for their own use.

No one is restricting the use of anything, simply asking that those who oppose such things not be forced to provide them.

first, old news.

Second, shitty news source.

Third, the lawsuit continues and it is not terribly surprising the courts granted an injunction while the lawsuit goes on. It is pretty normal for the courts to grant these injunctions even if the case would be victorious. This is why despite the courts continue to side with gay marriage in california, they also continue to keep gay marriages from continuing until the higher courts deal with it.

Fourth, no your religion does not allow you to violate laws and practice discrimination. The denial of health care for women, which birth control qualifies as because it has medicinal purposes for women who have certain dangerous medical conditions, is discrimination based on religious values. You cannot base your sexist policies in for profit secular business on your religious values.

So yeah, not a victory, just a delay while the courts deal with the case.

Actually it does, the first admendment is free exercise of religion, where is descrimination? And are you saying under no circumstances you cant descriminate? You do know the word is more than just racist, right, so I'd be careful tossing it around so cavalierly

Thanks for you're infinitely valuable opinion Te.

I disagree with you because even your site tells us you are wrong, and there was no decision on the case.

Next time you might want to wait to celebrate until the courts actually agree with you. You do remember what happened with the last republican challenge to Obamacare? All of you were so prepared to gloat that you got blindsided by the courts. Now all of a sudden you trust the highest court in the land again? I thought you were all betrayed and the court was a socialist commie den of evil RINOS?

It's clear that's your problem. You "THINK" you know what others think and feel and then you shit all over the boards based on your assumptions.
I'm good with the injunction and we're just getting started sweetie...believe it. ;)

It is, I dont trust the court, but even they have to try and show impartiality once in awhile..

Now what is your religion? We're debating a religious topic and it's good to know what perspective you have. I'm a christian

It's the liberal way they assume they know all and know what is best for America, even if the majority disagrees. That is why they claim fraud any time a Republican wins, because they just know people can't be that stupid.

I know, I know. But I'm sick of this stupid shit.
EVERYONE knows that had the court ruled against the mandate as opposed to completely changing the premise on which it was proposed, the next big story would have been one of rioting in the streets.
Now ever since the ruling I've had to listen to tards like this trying to tell me how much I now hate the court as a result. Maybe SOME of us should work on our own thought process before assuming they have others all figured out.

Oh you did not just quote the orange fail ninja. Anyway, that was a long way to go to tell me that I am right and this was not a decision on the case, just the the court takes into consideration both sides and is allowing the argument to be presented without forcing the rules until this new argument is decided. It is good that you can see how incorrect you are, now if you could only admit to yourself that i was right you would be much better off.

Oh, and in the future when you make incorrect statements like the court decided against obamacare despite there clearly being no decision on whether it is right or wrong, you might want to expect your general reputation to go down with people who like the truth.

Reading comprehension much?
I read the article and was under no impression nor did I imply that the mandate had been "overturned".

You're utterly fucking hopeless you know it...

first, claiming that there was a decision on the case is fraud. An injunction is not a decision on the legality of Obamacare.

second, this is a much more flimsy argument than the idea that the mandate was unconstitutional. This entire argument is based on the idea that sexism is tollerable in secular commercial enterprises due to religious belief. That is fucking doomed. That argument has the floating capacity of lead. if you look at precedent it has been repeatedly upheld that sexist policies in the workplace and discrimination against women based on religious beliefs in secular businesses is wrong, and the government does have the ability to enforce anti-discrimination laws on secular commercial enterprises. It is also not just federal law, if they chose to violate this mandate they will probably face civil suit.

But hey, I am sure the court will side with you guys because you put forth such brilliant backpatting.
