Obama's Closing Act

Howard Zinn is Obviously a TOTAL WACKJOB!!! Thinking like that is what is destroying America...

Pinko faags!

What was his quote about making an election about small things ?

I'd rep your post...but I am out.

I love this at the end of the op-ed...

There is a 1980 landslide forming, and while the MSM is doing its best to pretend it isn't there and that the race is still close.

It isn't, and it won't be. The electoral cake is baked.

For some time, I've felt that the election was spring loaded....people just needed an excuse to drop Obama.

It looks like it might happen.

Romney has been slow to give them that excuse...but given the nature of the Obama campaign (which everyone credits as being masterful in "painting" Romney before he could define himself.....I recall when Obama said he'd be above that).....I know it's been hard.

And Romney does have his weaknesses.

But, Obama is just plain terrible.

Our president Empty Suit will soon be a bad footnote in our economic history...

If you nutters have all convinced yourselves that Mitt is a lock......why do you constantly need reassurance?

Yes, because we all come here, Obama supporters and Romney supporters, to get reassurance our guy is going to win :eusa_eh:

Excellent opinion piece on how Obama's campaign effort has disintegrated-the president is toast.

"Binder" --big deal. "Not optimal" --no deal at all. That's the state of the Obama campaign: A nearly Orwellian effort at making some words matter and others disappear while facts are pushed aside It hasn't worked. It won't work..

You know even the left are toast when their best attack is attacking Romney for using binders. That's even an attack? I just used a post it note, does that mean I hate women too?

I'm more excited about getting rid of Obama than I am Mitt. Mitt will be OK though, he understands that giving the power back to the people is the right direction. He knows how to balance a check book as well as Obama know how to spend other peoples (American tax payers) money.

He knows he just needs to create a surplus, protect our boarders and ideals - and let the American people take care of the rest. --- and we will - we are the best people in the world!
i don,t think gop loves mitt that much but they hate obama so much their will want anyone really.

look it looking good for your guy but i won,t give up till the finish till the last vote is counted.

If Obama's slide doesn;t stop soon you will be giving up by 8:00p.m. on Nov. 6th.

I'm looking forward to going to bed early that night myself!

I imagine you will be going to bed early on election night. Once Obama wins Ohio, Iowa, and Wisconsin, you will know that Romney is finished. It will just be a matter of waiting for his concession speech.

Exactly right! :clap2:

what i love is when teh republicans gaffe, dems go apeshit and use it anywhere they can. when dems gaffe, the democrats say "we just having fun"

Does it really matter who is elected? It's all a sham!

"Civil disobedience. . . is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity and war and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem."

Howard Zinn

"During the Gore/Bush/Nader presidential election, while the entire nation was hypnotized by the spectacle, I had a vision. I saw the Titanic churning through the waters of the North Atlantic toward an iceberg looming in the distance, while the passengers and crew concentrated on a tennis game taking place on deck.

In our election-obsessed culture, everything else going on in the world - war, hunger, official brutality, sickness, the violence of everyday life for huge numbers of people - is swept out of the way while the media covers every volley of the candidates. Thus, the superficial crowds out the meaningful, and this is very useful for those who do not want citizens to look beyond the surface of the system. Hidden by the contest of the candidates are the real issues of race, class, war, and peace, which the public is not supposed to think about.
...
The ferocity of the contest for the presidency in recent elections conceals the agreement between both parties on fundamentals. The evidence for this statement lies in eight years of the Clinton-Gore administration, whose major legislative accomplishments - destroying welfare, imposing more punitive sentences on criminals, increasing Pentagon spending - were part of the Republican agenda.

The Demacrats and the Republicans do not dispute the continued corporate control of the economy. Neither party endorses free national healthcare, proposes extensive low-cost housing, demands a minimum income for all Americans, or supports a truly progressive income tax to diminish the huge gap between rich and poor. Both support the death penalty and growth of prisons. Both believe in a large military establishment, in land mines and nuclear weapons and the cruel use of sanctions against the people of Cuba.

Perhaps when, after the next election, the furor dies down over who really won the tennis match and we get over our anger at the referee's calls and the final, disputed score, we will finally break the hypnotic spell of the game and look around. We may then think about whether the ship is slowly going down and whether there are enough lifeboats and what we should do about all that."

Howard Zinn

yes because even if Romney can get the economy going, something obama has ignored, even if Romney does nothing else, just get that economy going, Americans will take teh baton and run with it.

YES all facets are greedy, not just the rich, so when the money is flowing again, that in turn will help other factors, but all factors need money. Charities, prgrams, schools, work, entertainment, tourism, all need money, fuel the money in and we can run with it. Stifle it as Obama tried and we are screwed.

Yes its a sham, but money is real and when its flowing, americans can do great things, when its stifling us, we will start adapting, but it wont be pretty. all romney has to do it get the money flowing.

Why should I ask them. They think Obama will win. But they don't spend all day looking for articles, blog posts and Internet polls to post. You nutters are not at all sure of a Romney win....mainly because most of you don't like the guy. So, you crave predictions that he will win.....it soothes you.

All one needs to do is look at the laundry list of dummies and crazy people who gave Mitt a fight in the primaries. He is seriously flawed. Confidence on your part is unattainable.

To be clear...Romney is in the race.

It was the leftwingwhackos that were claiming victory a month ago.

Keep your facts straight.

Oh! That explains it. You aren't looking for reassurance......you are just excited! Sure you are. Mittens oozes excitement.

Excitement, no, competence, yes. I've had enough incompetence.

The responses from liberals are typical...sadly typical.

What is exciting is that we might not be staring down the barrel of a bankrupt nation after a while.

To think it won't come without pain is simply naive.

However, Obama can go find some third world country who'll swallow his BS and worship him and maybe NY and CA will follow.

its funny how you lie to yourself.

Why "was"?

Haven't seen La-Sploda (in his pants) for a while....I figure he's in a time out has been kicked off the island for good.

I don't miss him at all.

Was Lakohta a guy? I seem to recall all I had seen of their posts were cartoons lately.

He was to stupid to be a woman.

And cartoons were his way of feeling like he was sticking his tounge out at people.

Which was probably dangerous in real life given his head was stuck squarely up his ass.
