sad but true

When an incumbent president runs for reelection, he usually runs on his record. But an unsuccessful incumbent runs from his record. It is no surprise, then, that the Obama campaign is devoid of substance — that the 2008 candidate of “hope and change” has become the president of hype and blame.

Last week, President Barack Obama’s campaign officials announced on a conference call the first “official” campaign stops of the 2012 race. There was, however, something notably absent from their discussion: a positive rationale for Obama’s candidacy.

The omission was revealing: Obama’s campaign is about nothing.

Instead of running on the issues Americans care about, the president has committed to running on an assortment of diversions.

He’s tried division. With his Buffett Tax, he spent weeks — and a great deal of taxpayer money — waging class warfare, in a cynical attempt to pit groups of Americans against each other. But his justification for the Buffett Tax changes almost weekly — proving it’s nothing more than a rudimentary political wedge.

It requires a special kind audacity to sow the seeds of division to reap political rewards. This is America, after all, where we still believe that “united we stand, divided we fall.” The president would do well to heed that maxim.

When division doesn’t work, Obama tries distraction. He ignores his failures on jobs and the economy and latches on to things like a college loan program he did not even bother to vote on as a senator.

Notably, this program did not warrant his attention until his poll numbers started slipping among young voters. So he set off on Air Force One on a tour of battleground state college campuses.

Again, it does not take much to figure out his motivations. College rallies hardly seem like “official business.” Neither does “slow jamming the news” on late night TV — as the president did last week.

But when division and distraction fail, Obama still refuses to take responsibility for the weak economy, high unemployment or massive government debt. Instead, he faults others. He has blamed his failures on a Japanese earthquake, ATMs, the Arab Spring, airport kiosks and even “bad luck.”

That the president would resort to these tactics— which he had decried in the 2008 campaign—proves he knows he has failed.

If he had anything resembling a successful record, he would run on that. He would accept the fact that this election is a referendum on his policies.

Romney, on the other hand, has loads of ammo.

Folks are going to be voting with their pocketbooks and Barrys distractions ain't gonna cut it.

Loads of American think this country is headed in the wrong direction as well.

I think Barry has a tough row to hoe.

Stephie, you would not know the truth if it bit you in the ass.

Obama has more to run on than any president up for re-election. He got healthcare passed. HE ended the war in Iraq bringing Palin's son home alive instead of in a flag drapped flag or thousands of others. He got Osama. The biggie. Obama can win runnig on his acheivements.

So why isn't he running on those achievements?? When was the last time you heard him campaign on what a great thing Obamacare is?? Do you realize more soldiers have died in Afghanistan during Obama's tenure than during the Bush years?

If his accomplishments are so great, why isn't he shouting them from sea to shining sea??

For someone who is called the "worse president ever" he sure have a lot of support and with blacks, hispanics and majority of whites and me he will win.

I think your the one who wouldn't know the truth if it bit you in the ass.

Yeah he Pelosi and Reid passed that clusterfuck in the face of massive protest by we the taxpayer. Don't think thats gonna cut it since everyones premium costs have gone way up to cover those that don't have insureance. Not to mention that The SC will be kicking that peice of shit to the curb.

He followed Bush's timeline on Iraq.

He did give the nod for UBL so kudo's there.

Folks are gonna be voting with their pocketbooks in Nov and it gonna be all about the economy.

Barry's policies are an abject failure and the dufus hasn't got a clue on how to fix same.

Barry doesn't have a whole lot to brag about in that department and he's got one tough row to hoe on the campaign trail.

Most everyone would agree that a POTUS has the fiduciary responsibly to unite Americans in common cause. This has been a hallmark of our great Nation.

That Oblunder has decided to consciously DIVIDE America as a way to win election is must more proof he is Worst President Ever, and lower than whale shit.

It is not worth the effort to respond to your bogus list of "achievements". Obama has managed to accumulate more debt in 3 years than all Presidents before him put together. He has burdened our great-great-grandchildren with enormous debt in order to socialize the healthcare industry. He has failed miserably to uphold and protect the Constitution. (That's because he fancies himself as a Marxist leader.)

Obama has disrespected the Navy Seals that actually "got Osama". He has created an atmosphere of uncertainty in the business investment sector such that jobs creation is ridiculously slow.

Obama is a FAILURE as President. He may be a great father and husband. Thank God he is a one term President!

Sure he does. Everybody that's on welfare and wants to stay on welfare
just LOVES Obama. They gather together in jubilation every time they get their check...singing..What a friend we have in Barry!

The sad part is because of his policies they think staying on welfare is the best thing for them. Then there are the ones that don't want to be on welfare but, because of those same policies they have no choice.

Sad, very sad indeed.

He got healthcare passed

Obama didn't pass health care. Pretty sure we already had health care in this country before his legislation that made it more expensive and trampled on our Constitutional rights was signed into law.

Obama has lost support among whites. His approval with them is in the 30s. As for blacks, no shock there. He will probably win a majority of Hispanic voters, but how much of a gap remains to be seen. They are still up for grabs. He'll win you because you like failure.
