Obama is travelling the globe repairing a damaged US reputation. His predicessor had trampled on other countries concerns, ignored them, ridiculed them and bullied them.

The first step is to repair past insults and establish a common ground we can work from. Obama needs to reestablish trust with these countries before he can start to make significant progress.

We know that the threats and bullying of the past administration resulted in nothing. Obama is creating a new cooperative understanding that will reap future benefits
