Obamacare saves seniors $569 each year

Says the board biggest freeloading Foodstamp recipient.

Have you ever worked/earned anything in your life - or have you been on the government teat since your cradle days in the trailer court?

For YOU to accuse anyone of being on the government tit is....wow....simply amazing.

Anyway......Nope, I've worked for and earned everything I've got, and in the private sector to boot. Everyone who gets anything from the government in the form of welfare, health care or entitlements can thank me for helping pay the bills. And if they can't be appreciative they can kiss my ass. But I will still gladly pay it since I will be collecting one day.

Thank you for what? Paying taxes? It's your Amercian duty to do so.
I bet I paid more in taxes in 2010 than you earned from 2004-2010, to keep you in food stamps. You should be on your knees kissing my feet for supporting/carrying your lazy Socialist ass.

Uhhhh....no. Probably the opposite. But thanks for playing.

I guess I'm going to have to keep playing patty cake (as you call it) since I already answered this same exact question from you in another thread.

Since you didn't like the answer the first time then you damned sure won't like it a second or even third time.

I didn't need to respond, hello, because my point was proven, its NOT FREE, its added to the liabilities which, taa daa WE have to cover or (well not you, since you and your wife are on gov. pensions), me and others who work now and then some. like those evil millionaires who will be paying that 3.8% surcharge on top of all others taxes on ALL investment income next year, ipso, there is NO FREE LUNCH....those 'seniors' save because WE PAY.

and, here was your answer;

Everyone who works and pays taxes. Just because you're not currently receiving medicare doesn't mean that you're not part of the program. And, like SS, I don't mind paying more money or a higher rate now to help sustain a program that in time I'll depend on.

The person who benefits from this now could be my mother or grandparents. But in time it will be me (and you whether you want to admit it or not).

oh what-fucking- ever:lol: don't play that BS maudlin card on me ok?

and let me clue you in , means testing will throw my wife and I out, I will never ever realize the 'benefits' I have paid for, and 10's of millions like me, the system will crash first everyone into the same shitty environment so the bottom 20% can gain.....what a joke.

See Greece? Thats us come 2022 or so thats what the whole mess in congress is about.

clean out your head gear. BUT then again based on past posts etc. I have sen form you, you and those like you ala that supremely intellectually dishonest drone Greenbeard are always ready and willing to rob ( see: tax) anyone who is smarter, more accomplished and has, there fore accrued more than you did or do, thats what validates their twisted pathology.

Ok....so you admit that I answered your loaded question and that you simply didn't like the answer. Thanks for making my point.

Opined by Trajan....I didn't need to respond, hello, because my point was proven, its NOT FREE, its added to the liabilities which, taa daa WE have to cover or (well not you, since you and your wife on on gov. pensions), me and others who work now and then some. like those evil millionaires who will be paying that 3.8% surcharge on top of all others taxes on ALL investment income next year, ipso, there is NO FREE LUNCH....those "seniors' save because WE PAY.

And when you're old and unable to work YOU will be the one collecting while OTHERS pay. See how it works?

And BTW....neither me nor my wife are on government pensions (but you already knew that didn't you since I addressed it elsewhere and sent you a pm on the matter). But one day we will ALL be collecting SS (as long as we paid into it and are still alive).

And when that day comes you will be standing in line with all of the other "freeloaders" demanding your government pension, won't you?

yes and I will but I don't hold out any hopes of getting it, I see it as maybe a 30-40% recovery. And unlike you I don’t have my head up my union owned arse.

try reading, seriously put the NY Times or whatever rags it is you read, here google, oh, Rhode island pension problems...have at it.

and because I will have spent more years as a private employee and my wife always has and will be a private industry employee, we will be well set , and due to that your masters will means test us out and we will be paying cash for what we need medical treatment/care etc., so bloodsuckers like you can glom up more of your betters money that we were PROMISED via that bogus insurance scam - medicare.

5th or 6th time I have explained this btw.....take your time read it slowly.

Obama's Osawatomie speech today will invoke TR's "New Nationalism" speech. Remember Teddy?

Obama’s Osawatomie offensive - PostPartisan - The Washington Post

Presidents have many obligations and one of them is to be teachers of history. So may I offer three cheers for President Obama’s decision to give a speech today in Osawatomie, Kan., where Theodore Roosevelt gave his great and important New Nationalism speech in 1910.

Channeling TR is an excellent idea because the Republican Roosevelt (who created the breakaway Progressive Party in 1912 to give political life to the principles of the New Nationalism) was in many ways the prime mover of many of the achievements of American liberalism and progressivism.

So, Obama is tearing pages out of the playbook and inserting them into his playbook of historical pluses.

He's no dummy...

He's no dummy...

Well...yes and no.

1. His plan is to link his stance with that of a previous progressive...TR, who made his most radical speech, calling for a New Nationalism that would put national needs above sectional or personal advantage, urging “a genuine and permanent moral awakening.”

a. This included a graduated income and inheritance tax, a workman’s compensation act, prohibition of child labor, downward revision of tariffs, and increased power for the Interstate Commerce Commission.
Teddy Roosevelt:

2. What he forgets is the reason TR chose Osawatomie!
He saw it as the 'holy' site of another progressive...America's first terrorist: John Brown.
Brown saw the massacre of those who disagreed with his position on slavery as a good reason to kill them in cold blood. TR planned to start his campaign here to align with the anti-slavery feeling.

a. "When TR planned to run against Taft, he espoused a more radical position than ever before. He branded the Supreme Court a barrier to social justice, and advocated checks on the power of the judiciary to overrule acts or the legislature. This, in fact, may have been his overreaction to Taft’s love of the judiciary. " From Chace, "1912."

"The Pottawatomie Massacre occurred during the night of May 24 and the morning of May 25, 1856. In reaction to the sacking of Lawrence (Kansas) by pro-slavery forces, John Brown and a band of abolitionist settlers (some of them members of the Pottawatomie Rifles) killed five settlers north of Pottawatomie Creek in Franklin County, Kansas. It will be what it will be. But it's not nearly as bad as you and the pols make out.

you told me your wife was a teacher on a pesnion, so its a private pension?

No I didn't. You need to brush up on YOUR reading comphrension as well. She pays into her pension (probably more than you) but she is NOT collecting yet. If you can show me any post where I said she was collecting I will apologize for misleading you. If you can't then admit you were wrong.

yes and I will but I don't hold out any hopes of getting it, I see it as maybe a 30-40% recovery. And unlike you I don’t have my head up my union owned arse.

Now why are you making personal attacks and insults? I thought we were having a great debate. As for whether or not it will be there see my above link.

and because I will have spent more years as a private employee and my wife always has and will be a private industry employee, we will be well set , and due to that your masters will means test us out and we will be paying cash for what we need medical treatment/care etc., so bloodsuckers like you can glom up more of your betters money that we were PROMISED via that bogus insurance scam - medicare.

Oh so you WON'T be "one of the bloodsuckers" glomming up money via medicare? If you say no you're either stupid or lying.

As I have stated any times I work for a public utility and it's an Independant Power Producer so I think that would be a private employer and it's certainly NOT the government. And since I have been doing it over 30 years I most likely have more years (maybe many more) than you.

Medicare is having some problems but again, it's not as bad as you make it out to be. And it must be doing fairly well or you would see this from the polls......

Poll: Six In Ten Oppose GOP’s Medicare Privatization Plan | TPMDC

Oh Bullshit--my medical insurance premiums jumped up over $150.00 per month right after this abortion was crammed down our throats. And Obama CUT 500 BILLION out of Medicare to pay for Obamacare.

Another biggie that just went into effect is the Medical Loss Ratio rule.

Under the new rules, insurers must spend at least 80 percent of the money they take in from insurance premiums (less taxes and fees) toward providing health care to their customers. If they don't spend that percentage, insurers will now be required to send rebates back to the people paying the premiums

http://m.theatlanticwire.com/national/2011/12/why-you-should-care-about-medical-loss-ratio/45703/

Obamacare saves seniors $569 each year

Health care law changing behavior

Good news! The latest in a series of it for Medicare beneficiaries:

Data show that 2.65 million people with Medicare have saved more than $1.5 billion on their prescriptions – averaging about $569 per person.

And, as of the end of November, more than 24.2 million people with Medicare have taken advantage of at least one free preventive benefit – including the new Annual Wellness Visit – made possible by the Affordable Care Act.

Building on savings in 2011, Medicare also recently announced that the Part B deductible will be $22 lower in 2012 and average Medicare Advantage premiums are projected to drop four percent in 2012. Part B premiums, which cover outpatient services including doctor visits, are estimated to increase by only $3.50 per month for most beneficiaries in 2012, and some will see a decrease. These changes will be more than offset by the average Social Security cost of living increase ($43 per month for retired workers).

And despite the reductions in overspending on Medicare Advantage plans by the government under the ACA, they're still going strong:

Despite predictions that last year’s health law would doom Medicare’s private insurance plans, it’s not happening – at least not yet. Enrollment in Medicare Advantage plans continues to grow at a brisk pace, rising to 8.4 million beneficiaries by April 2011, about a 6 percent increase from April 2010, according to a new report from the Government Accountability Office.

Enrollment in health maintenance organizations (HMOs), which account for about two-thirds of total Medicare Advantage enrollment this year, increased by 9 percent, from about 5.2 million beneficiaries to about 5.6 million.

And, as we know, the ACA isn't just beginning to change consumer behavior, it's changing the behavior of providers--it's prompting them to improve care to reign in costs. And growth in Medicare spending has fallen sharply in the last two years:

On the other hand, growth rates in Medicare claim costs hit yet another low, rising at an annual rate of +1.97% as measured by the S&P Healthcare Economic Medicare Index. The S&P Healthcare Economic Hospital Medicare Index also posted a record low annual rate of +0.71% in the year ending September 2011. This is a staggering 7.59 percentage points lower than the highest annual growth rate of +8.30% recorded for this index just two years ago in August 2009.

Lower costs and better coverage for seniors, lower spending on Medicare managed care plans by the government (without hurting enrollment or taking away the choice seniors have of enrolling in those private insurance plans), and carrots that are helping providers to implement the reforms necessary to improve the quality of care they're offering and lower the expense of offering it, thereby slowing Medicare cost growth.

Medicare reform at 20 months is looking pretty good. But there's still a long way to go.

We just got a very nice year end "rebate" or refund on our insurance premium because of ObamaCare.

'bout fell off my chair.

I must admit I don't quite understand it but they sent out a flyer telling us our group qualifies under ObamaCare. And, it was a pretty large chunk of money. We just got the amount today and I'm thinking I might do some research tomorrow, starting with a call to our insurance company.

I've gotten medical treatment in London and Brussels and if we can have anything similar to what I experienced, we'd be damn fools to throw it away. It wasn't really an emergency, more like urgent care but I couldn't fly until it was resolved. Two doctor visits, two scrips and it was fast, cheap and easy.

Besides -- If the *(^$% I have to pay for Congress' insurance premiums, they can damn well let me have similar quality insurance and care.

Actually, you've got it exactly opposite to reality.

Thanks to that hero of the wacky right wing, Ronnie Ray-Gun, our current "system" allows those who don't or can't pay their bill (Republicans and teabaggers) to walk into an emergency room and get care. They can then walk out, Scott free. Oh sure, the hospital will try to collect but in the end, the dead beat doesn't have to pay and us LIB-rules have to pay it for you through higher insurance premiums and/or out of pocket costs.

ObamaCare, otoh, would force everyone, even deadbeat rw's to pay for themselves.

My question is, why don't repubs and teabags want to pay for their own insurance? Why do they want to force the rest of us to pay it for them?

Hmmm?
