I saw Wright's press club speech and what i saw was that he ( Wright) equated the criticisms of his remarks as an attack on the black church.

That statement not only reveals Wrights vision of his own importance, after all if attacking his anti American and outrageous statements such as (paraphrasing here) " HIV was invented by white Americans to wipe out the Black man" is tantamount to attacking the entirety of Black religion, then he must be an important man indeed.

I was prompted to look into Black Liberation Theology and found some interesting things.

Here is another quote from James Cone who Wright mentioned to Sean Hannity

Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community … Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.

Now this is the same philosophy that Obama subscribes to. We know this because Wright is his spiritual mentor and advisor.

Is a man who subscribes to this vision of God and religion the man you want in the White House

I really don't care that Obama is Black. Funny how the people who care most that Obama is Black are Blacks and he will get the Black vote simply because he is Black and that's OK as long as I have the right not to vote for Obama and not be called a racist. That aside I wouldn't vote for Obama anyway simply because he is a tax happy liberal with a socialist leaning. i didn't need to find out about this religious theology that espouses a victim mentality and and outright hatred of White America to make up my mind but it does certainly shed light on Obama and makes me wonder even more if he should be president.

Rev. Jeremiah Wright:

"And the United States of America government, when it came to treating her citizens of Indian descent fairly, she failed. She put them on reservations. When it came to treating her citizens of Japanese descent fairly, she failed. She put them in internment prison camps. When it came to treating citizens of African descent fairly, America failed. She put them in chains. The government put them on slave quarters, put them on auction blocks, put them in cotton fields, put them in inferior schools, put them in substandard housing, put them in scientific experiments, put them in the lowest paying jobs, put them outside the equal protection of the law, kept them out of their racist bastions of higher education and locked them into position of hopelessness and helplessness. The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law, and then wants us to sing God bless America? No, no, no. Not God bless America; God damn America!”

No one disputes Wright's summary of US history."
