Obama is similar to social democrats of Europe. It's the Capitalistic Welfare State not the Soviet Union

Both failures, only the social democrats in Europe are dying more slowly and painfully.

The Nordic countries are in much better shape than America after Bush. Highest standard of living, better ranked education and healthcare systems, and low crime rates.

They're lower middle class by any US standard, and that still lets out the vast majority of Europe, which is dying a slow death under socialism.

Our super markets are better than any I saw in Spain, I did see a farmer market in Segovia that was great. Still, a measure of a country has to be its super market and I bet ours beat any in Europe.

Small homes, small cars, in Scandanavia, "sustainable" meaning small housing. Fewer consumer choices. Your disposable income as you know it in the US sucked out from under you by the taxes.

Who wants that crap?

Um...You DO know that small homes make more sense in cold, snowy climates, right?

What supermarkets? are you kidding me? I heard Europeans liked the smaller shops, and it's hard to get a big supermarket open when land is so expensive due to the small size of most of the countries.

But in other news Southeast asia is doing great, South America is chugging along, and let's not forget how great Africa is

I have a small home, a small car, and yet my conservative state government taxes me more than my liberal federal government. Fewer consumer choices means the government has many products and services that outclass private companies due to the lack of profit margins. There is a reason why so many people use the Post Office more than UPS/Fedex, there is a reason why we call the police instead private detectives, there is a reason why there really is no private fire departments, and there is a defiantly a reason why most people go to public school and college than the private alternative. All the private options are most often than not better than the public options. However price is the issue. I would like to live in a mansion and drive a sports car, but frankly that's not realistic and neither the fact of the general public could do so either. People are struggling to pay their rent, their bills, their gas and their groceries because of less public options.

Bull Shit

That is when presidents really carry out their agendas - in the 2nd terms.

Right know he is playing to the middle just to get re-elected.

Profiles in Cowardice.

On what planet is he playing to the middle with his ubber leftist legislation?

Tell me, what would this "uber leftist" legislation that Obama has passed recently? You mean when he outlawed guns? Or closed Gitmo? Or brought all the troops home? Or made same-sex marriage legal?

Oh wait. None of those things have happened. Obama has just passed more business-friendly and business-written legislation, just like every other President in the last 30 years.

Bull Shit

Listen my children and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Revere,
On the all days of January, in two-thousand-ten;
Hardly a man is now dead
Who remembers those famous days and year.
He said to his friend, "If the Socialists come from America make up stories about how awful Europe is, and if they come from Europe tell them how great Captialism has helped corporations take over.
And on the opposite side of the truth he shall be,

I can't even get paper bags in my supermarkets.

depends on the supermarket's policy and maybe state laws. All the stores around here have paper bags but you have to ask. They also cost more to make or at least did, and are more of a pain for the worker to bag up.

Obamacare. Cap and Tax (via the EPA). The FCC stomp down of the internet.

The biggest government grabs of the private sector since FDR.

A healthcare bill that was all but written by healthcare lobbyists, bills that haven't and are unlikely to pass, and the auto industry coming to Washington for a bailout is what makes him an uber leftist?!

What a hoot.

He's a corporatist .... beholden to big business and special interest just like his predecessor.
