So begins a propaganda campaign to win the hearts and minds of Americans so they will approve of amnesty for more than 11 million illegal aliens.

The Times story makes it appear that the debate is really over two approaches to legalization; the all-at-once Obama plan, or a piecemeal plan headed up by Senator Rubio (Both want all illegal aliens legalized). It fails to mention the alternative favored by most Americans ---enforce the law, beginning with the border.

So let's say we build a huge fence to block the border that's impossible to get around. Fine. Then what? How much money are you willing to spend and how many businesses are you willing to disrupt to deport them all?

Not to mention the societal impacts of driving these people further from the law into criminal occupations. Of which not all are already involved in as the deporters want us to believe.

Attrition Through Enforcement Is the True Middle-ground Solution

The open borders crowd constantly tell the American people that there are only two solutions to our nation's illegal alien crisis – give illegal aliens amnesty or round them up and deport them. This is a diversionary tactic to draw public attention away from the most effective and efficient solution – Attrition Through Enforcement.

The principle behind Attrition Through Enforcement is that living illegally in the United States will become more difficult and less satisfying over time when the government – at ALL LEVELS – enforces all of the laws already on the books. It is also imperative that the government with the full cooperation of the private sector, implements certain workplace enforcement measures. The goal is to make it extremely difficult for unauthorized persons to live and work in the United States. There is no need for taxpayers to watch the government spend billions of their dollars to round up and deport illegal aliens; they will buy their own bus or plane tickets back home if they can no longer earn a living here.

a path to citizenship for most of the 11 million illegal immigrants in the country,

... 11 million illegal immigrants in the country

for some reason that no. seems low - for tipping the election in favor of the Democrats Obama should just grant them amnesty and be done with it.

In addition to the time and money needed to afford due process to those accused of being in the country illegally.

This is nothing more than hate and ignorance predicated on animus toward those whose skin is brown and language Spanish.

How about Indonesians posing as natural born citizens? Do(es) t(he)y get amnesty?
