I do think his views are very far to the left for this country, perhaps even bordering on democratic socialism.

See, the very fear you guys are trying to incite is that we'll become a new USSR, but you don't point out how well European socialism works in Europe. The United States constitution does not guarantee us capitalism. The constitution guarantees us freedom, but a free market can exist under socialistic ideals. For example:

Partial-nationalization of our banks, government owned residential property (fannie may/freddie mac), government backed retirement account, government health insurance for the poor and elderly, federal control of corporations and banks that have failed... these are all socialistic ideas that you would find under the communist manifesto. The original idea behind conservativism is that there would be a very limited central government and that the states would have more rights. Kind of like the European Union right now...

Jeffersonianism which eventually evolved into the Republican Party, called for limited central government, like we were originally supposed to have. This idea is archaic now. The founding fathers never dreamed of Globalism and in order for the American economy to become a global economy, we need a centralized government, much like Hammiltonism or Federalism.

Federalism is a more centralized government with limited state soverignty. This is what we have right now. John McCain and Barrack Obama are both federalists. John McCain is going to give $2500 to a 150 million americans a year. Obama is going to offer government health insurance to everyone.

The ideas that Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and a majority of you all spout off about limited central government is archaic and outdated and has no place in our country anymore. We haven't had that kind of government for many, many years, probably since the civil war. The Democratic Republican Party split into the Democratic Party and the Whig Party. Whigs were for a smaller, less centralized government and they eventually faded away. The Republican Party tried to adopt a few of their ideas and still tries to, but can you name for me the last President who actually shrunk the federal government and gave state governments more power?

Reagan sure as hell didn't. Bush Sr. and Jr. sure as hell didn't. John McCain sure as hell won't. So in the end, both McCain and Obama offer socialistic ideals.

Do you know that the CEO of Washington Mutual, right before it failed, who was on the job for two weeks made tens of millions of dollars and a guy who works 18 hours a day breaking his back at a restaraunt makes about $50,000 a year? How is that fair? It's not. So the government has now intervened and in that bailout package, the government put a stop to that. Let me repeat, the United States government has altered the allowable salaries of CEO's affected by the mortgage crisis. That's socialism. That's redistribution of wealth.

And you guys have the audacity to sit here and slam Obama for proposing the very ideas that we already have?
