Obama: We raised taxes, but the rich still aren’t paying their fair share

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tuztHPq95o]President Obama on the "fiscal cliff" agreement - YouTube[/ame]
President Obama cut a video, distributed by his reelection, to reiterate his belief that the wealthiest Americans still aren’t paying their “fair share” of taxes and to outline a second-term agenda ranging from environmental policy to gun control.

Obama started by celebrating the tax increases — “making our tax code more progressive than it’s been in decades,” he said — that will take place because of the fiscal cliff deal.

“Obviously, there is still more to do when it comes to reducing our debt,” Obama said in the video. “And I’m willing to do more, as long as we do it in a balanced way that doesn’t put all the burden on seniors or students or middle class families, but also asks the wealthiest Americans to contribute and pay their fair share.”

Obama, who is vacationing in Hawaii, cut the video for his campaign list. “President Obama recorded a video to update supporters like you on what’s in the agreement and what it means for you,” Obama for America campaign manager Jim Messina said in an email today. . .

:lol:He better hope the demoncraps take the house. that's all I'm gonna say. and that's even assuming all the rich people are still here!:lol:

So, why didn't the Dems do what they claimed they wanted to do? Taxes are being raised on all middle class people, even lower income, yet they still bitch about the wealthy. So, what the hell did they all put together and vote on exactly? Of course, they still need to play class warfare and they still need support from their wealthy friends, like the evil George Soros.

The Bush tax cuts expired Jan 1, 2013 and Obama extended some of them permanent and that adds up to a tax cut and not a tax hike, fool. when Bush tax cuts expired taxes went up and Obama's tax planned that passed gave tax cuts to people making less then $400,000 and couples $450. A tax cut.
Tax Relief for Middle-Class Families and Small Businesses
President Obama has cut taxes for middle class families every year he has been in office, and federal taxes for middle class families are currently at nearly their lowest levels in decades.

A typical middle class family has gotten a tax cut of $3,600 over the last four years – more if they were putting a child through college.

• President Obama's Making Work Pay credit provided 95 percent of working families a tax cut of $400 per person or $800 per couple in 2009 and 2010.

• The President's payroll tax cut provided 160 million workers a 2 percent reduction in payroll taxes, cutting taxes for a typical family earning $50,000 a year by $1,000 -- or $40 per paycheck -- in 2011 and 2012.

• Families putting a child through college can receive as much as $10,000 of help over four years from the President’s American Opportunity Tax Credit, the equivalent of a 30 percent discount on tuition at a typical state university. For many families, the American Opportunity Tax Credit provides thousands of dollars more help with college expenses than they could have received from pre‐existing tax credits.

• Federal income taxes on middle‐income families are now at nearly their lowest level (as a share of income) since the Eisenhower Administration, and total federal taxes on middle class families also remain at nearly the lowest levels in decades.

15 million working families with children benefit from the President’s improvements to the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit.

• Nearly 12 million working families with children receive larger Child Tax Credits due to the President’s improvements, including about 5 million working families that now get help from the credit and previously could not benefit from it at all.

• Together, the Child Tax Credit improvements and enhancements to the Earned Income Tax Credit for couples and larger families lifted 1.6 million people in working‐poor families out of poverty in 2010.

Starting in 2014, about 18 million individuals and families will get tax credits for health insurance coverage averaging about $4,000 apiece, as a result of the Affordable Care Act.

• Over the next ten years, the Affordable Care Act will provide middle class individuals and families with almost $700 billion in tax credits to help pay for health insurance coverage.

You're a moron. Taxes were increased on the affluent middle class, as well as the rest of all working people.

And then all the ObamaCare taxes kicked in as well - this is arguably the largest tax increase in history.

Is there an unedited version of that video available? It jump cuts around and I would like to make sure the comments are in the order they were actually spoken.

Statement from the President on the Senate Deal to Extend Middle Class Tax Cuts | The White House

Leaders from both parties in the Senate came together to reach an agreement that passed with overwhelming bipartisan support today that protects 98 percent of Americans and 97 percent of small business owners from a middle class tax hike. While neither Democrats nor Republicans got everything they wanted, this agreement is the right thing to do for our country and the House should pass it without delay.

This agreement will also grow the economy and shrink our deficits in a balanced way – by investing in our middle class, and by asking the wealthy to pay a little more.

What's more, today's agreement builds on previous efforts to reduce our deficits. Last year, I worked with Democrats and Republicans to cut spending by more than $1 trillion. Tonight’s agreement does even more by asking millionaires and billionaires to begin to pay their fair share for the first time in twenty years. As promised, that increase will be immediate, and it will be permanent.

There’s more work to do to reduce our deficits, and I’m willing to do it. But tonight’s agreement ensures that, going forward, we will continue to reduce the deficit through a combination of new spending cuts and new revenues from the wealthiest Americans. And as we address our ongoing fiscal challenges, I will continue to fight every day on behalf of the middle class and all those fighting to get into the middle class to forge an economy that grows from the middle out, not from the top down.

And what was that $1T in spending that he claims was cut?

The fact that the rich aren't paying their fair share is a no brainer. We're down almost to the levels just before Hoover and the banks ruined the economy and screwed the working man....sound familiar?

And what was that $1T in spending that he claims was cut?

I'm sure it is some clever wordplay. Is that one trillion over ten years? Or does it mean the federal government would have spent $4.6 trillion last year but only spent $3.6 trillion instead, thanks to him?

Who knows.

I noticed your signature:

Ronald Reagan quadrupled the national debt, granted amnesty to 6 million illegal immigrants and in his younger years was a Democrat and the president of a union. YEEEEEEH HAAAAAAAWW!!!!!!!!!!
