That's a piss poor argument. There are always people who are unemployed and out of work. Even during the Clinton years when the economy was at it's best in years, there was still unemployment. So by that definition, you believe that there should be no green cards ever.

Gezzus. I thought people were smarter than this.
There is no "surplus" or "deficit" of work. Work is not a finite resource. Jobs are not a finite resource that you have to ration, despite what the French think.
I want employers to be able to hire the best people on the best terms they can get. I want workers to get the highest wages they can.
And those two things cannot happen with gov't sticking its nose into the problem and trying to "solve" it.
Government cannot create jobs in any meaningful sense. They can create more bureaucrats but that doesn't help the nation as those jobs are not productive to the national economy. In fact they are a drain on that economy since they are paid for with either taxes or borrowing.
But government can kill jobs by making employment expensive, by making laws that create uncertainty in the business environment, or by slapping expensive mandates on companies that reduce their ability to expand.
And that is what Obama has been doing for the last 9 months and that is why jobs continue to disappear.
