Just as I thought, this plan would help him. And as I stated before.....

THE DAMN RNC BETTER GET BUSY AND RUN SOME DAMN ADS EXPLAINING THE GOP HAS PASSED LEGISLATION THAT WOULD HELP US IF HARRY REID WASN'T SITTING ON HIS HANDS.

If the RNC doesn't do their fucking job and promote our party while countering Obamas bs we WILL lose this race before it begins.

Worked for Truman. The Reps are going to have to do something or Obama will tar the candidate with their inaction, even if he wasn't in Congress, just like Dewey.

Some people want a King, they just are scared to say it.

No, they just recognize that we're in a pit and they want the government to do something about it.

Very true. However the house has offered plans that most of the public don't know about because only Obama has the bully pulpit. Our party is doing a terrible job promoting their legislation to the public at large giving the false appearance that only Obama is trying.

I honestly don't think it would help much if the public did know, Gramps. The legislation that has passed the House, when it had anything to do with the economy, has consisted of same-old-same-old: tax cuts for the rich, deregulation, union-busting. Right-wing economic theory may see that as a way to "create jobs," but common sense doesn't, and the polls show that most people don't want that sort of thing.

Plus it was poorly-designed legislation in that only an idiot would have expected it to get past the Senate, so either the House Republicans are all idiots, which I doubt, or they were passing bills only to appeal to the GOP base, not for the purpose of making law. That still amounts to doing nothing of substance.

There's one more thing. I wouldn't assume that Obama's improvement in the polls is entirely due to his "we can't wait" schtick, although doubtless part of it is. Obama is becoming more populist again in his rhetoric, correcting what I see as his post-2010 mistake. I think that's helping him, too, as I predicted it would.

One thing I know that not many on the right know, is that there was a fairly organized movement on the left to sit out the 2010 election in order to "send a message" to Democrats after their dismal performance in 2009-10. (For the record, I thought this a bad idea and argued against it.)

That's more than half of the reason why Republicans won last year's election. There was also an energizing of the GOP base due to the Tea Party movement, which was the rest of the explanation. Hardly anyone who voted for Obama in 2008 also voted Republican in 2010; there was no national move to the right. But Obama apparently bought into the narrative that the vote represented a reaction to Democratic overreach (when in reality it was a reaction to Democratic under-reach) and shifted to the right himself -- and his poll numbers dropped.

Now that the insurgency on the left has gone overt in the form of the Occupy movement, he appears to be abandoning that narrative and moving to the left -- and his approval rating is improving.

And it was a "plan" similar to the one they are offering that got us into the mess in the first place. Low taxes and soft regulations has proven to be a huge failure.

It's the public sector bleeding jobs by the way. The private sector has been hiring, albeit at a snail's pace.

What Obama is doing is an abuse of Executive Orders. He wasn't elected to be a monarch.

Oh no he's not. And Bush had far more Executive orders/signing statements and all sorts of "abuse" of power.

Wasn't a problem for conservatives back then. Not in the slightest. Ron Paul was the lone voice among republicans that complained. I'll throw in Bob Barr for good measure.

We are aware that your preferred style of government is communist. So you'll forgive me if I lean towards calling you a fucking idiot.

And we should explain how the EPA is destroying jobs!
The analysis, done on behalf of ACCCE by NERA, relies on state-of-the-art modeling tools, as well as government data for almost all of its assumptions. NERA’s analysis projects that EPA’s Cross-State Air Pollution Rule and proposed Maximum Achievable Control Technology, coal combustion residuals, and cooling water intake requirements for power plants would, over the 2012-2020 period:

** Cost the power industry $21 billion per year;
** Cause an average loss of 183,000 jobs per year;
** Increase electricity costs by double digits in many regions of the U.S.;
** Cost consumers over $50 billion more for natural gas; and
** Reduce the disposable income of the average American family
by $270 a year.

At the same time, the EPA says it will need another 230,000 new bureaucrats to implement their disastrous job killing policies.

We are living through some very dark days. Our President is behaving like a Dictator. And isn't that what the Socialists/Progressives always accused the last guy of doing? Now it seems just fine to these same people. This is very disturbing stuff. It may be working for him in the Polls but it's very bad for our nation and its citizens.

The only plans the GOP has in Congress is to block all attempts at economic recovery until after the 2012 election just as they have done for over a year. It makes no sense whatsoever for the GOP to push legislation that might help the economy in 2012. In fact, they state many times, there primary purpose is defeat the president. So if your hurting economically, you just got to wait.

Their proposals would result in job creation. They were shelved because Obama wants it his way. Reid is Obamas personal lap dog.

This is not Bi-Partisanship or doing what's right for the country. This is only about 'Party before Country.' So much of that promised "Hope & Change" has been proven to be Bullshit. I think most Americans now realize this.

What I realize is that you don't have the foggiest notion of how our government works. EOs aren't dictatorial. They're merely things Congress already told the president he could do, if he felt the need.
