33 BILLION to keep this country safe? Is nothing. This is just a "smidgen" of what Obama has spent in pork barrel--political pay-offs--& bribery to buy votes.

You seem to forget what Obama stated-- "during the greatest economic crisis since the great depression" Obama signed off of a 450 BILLION dollar Ominus bill that was loaded with over 9000 earmarks & political pay-backs.

Maybe you should get your priorities straight.

You're amusing.
Did you ever complain about the cost of war before?

I understand the need to fight terrorism. Apparently, you don't.

You think a mere 33 billion to fight the war on terror, after the trillions that this administration has spent in the last year--much of it on junk--is something to complain about.

You liberals consistently talk about Bush's spending. Well it's really hard for me to relate to spending money on 9/11, two insuing wars, & hurricane Katrina-

-to Obama's spending of 450 million for the study of STD's., 98 million for Hollywood to buy film, 787 billion in a stimulus bill that wasn't, 64 million in AIG bonuses, 200+ million in Freddie/Fannie bonuses, 640 million for a train from Disneyland to Las Vegas--& an additional 450 BILLION for political paybacks--& 8000 earmarks- in the Ominus bill-that Bush refused to sign off on.

And you want to complain about 33 billion to fight the war on terror & support our troops--:cuckoo::cuckoo:

In case you don't know, your President--Barack Obama--has spent more in one year--than the cost of ALL wars combined in the history of the United States.

How's all that Hopey & Changey workin for ya?--:lol:

The President is asking for an additional 33 billion dollars for war in Afghanistan.

What are the thoughts on this?

Let's spend 2 trillion dollars on a fraud ridden healthcare scheme!!!!!

Obama wants $33 billion more for wars - White House- msnbc.com

and here's a line in the link that immediately caught my eye...
The administration also plans to tell Congress next month that its central military objectives for the next four years will include winning the current wars while preventing new ones,

military objectives include winning the current wars.....hey....that's a start. We've already won in Iraq and those troops will be coming home in a little over a year from now thanks to the previous Bush administration. Let's see if Obama can make all of the anti-military/anti-troops/anti-war assholes who supported him shut the fuck up and let US finish the job.

Oh, yeah, great big thanks to the Bush Administration

Yes indeed....The war killed more than 4000 Al Qaeda foreign fighters in Iraq. That's a good thing. Now with the Afghanistan situation you see the difficulty in fighting a war there...maintaining a viable supply line and a host of other things that cause a lot of headaches for miliary ground commanders...not to mention fighting at altitudes greater than 10,000 feet. The reasons for going into Iraq that were made public may not have been the right ones but I agree with the strategy of fighting Al Qaeda in Iraq where we are easily resupplied, have access to overwhelming air power and top notch medical facilities are only minutes away.
