The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 47% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns 46% of the vote. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided. See daily tracking history.

When “leaners” are included, the race is tied with both Obama and Romney at 48%. Leaners are those who are initially uncommitted to the two leading candidates but lean towards one of them when asked a follow-up question.

Rasmussen is always the outlier. They don't seem to refine their likely voter algorithms until the last two weeks. Until then, they're a joke.

You really ought to try looking at all polls, and see who's been drinking the Cheeri-Aid.

30% Republican

37% Democrat

33% Independent

And all the landline calls, which were under-represented to begin with - were further skewed by asking not for the head of household, but for the youngest head-of-mush kiddie available.

This is a blatant skew as older people outvote the rest by almost 2:1 - and are more likely to have landlines - and are more likely to be conservative - so why would they ask for the kiddie instead of head of household?

They oversampled Democrat voters 7%, but still could only come up with 52.8% supporting Obama, and that is with intentionally going for the least likely voter / youngest / most liberal child in the household (probably shown in the Independent tally) on the landline calls when they in fact should have been going for the head-of-household.
