Obama Up 8 Points Nationally In Latest Pew Poll

Granted that Obama has been up in just about every poll since the conventions, and PEW was pretty accurate last election. But frigging wow. I expect Obama to win by 8, but didn't think it would break for him this early. It feels good to see him break 50%.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 47% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns 46% of the vote. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided. See daily tracking history.

When “leaners” are included, the race is tied with both Obama and Romney at 48%. Leaners are those who are initially uncommitted to the two leading candidates but lean towards one of them when asked a follow-up question.

He's got Romney's mouth to thank for that.

The only people who think Romney said anything momentous are the extremist leftwads.

And it's freaking the press out. Another propaganda moment that didn't have quite the effect they'd planned...

Rasmussen is always the outlier. They don't seem to refine their likely voter algorithms until the last two weeks. Until then, they're a joke.

You really ought to try looking at all polls, and see who's been drinking the Cheeri-Aid.

2012 General Election: Romney vs. Obama

Oh, and "leaners" have been breaking for Obama for a few weeks now. Unless you think that Mitt can walk on water, he's going to need a ton of help, mostly to get him to STFU, and reinvent himself in 5 weeks.

they're not done yet.

They were the good old days. Now he's up one point in the latest Gallup poll and down one point in the latest Rasmussen poll.

The American majority are "leftwads"? You really ought to seek some help. Perhaps you can find a way to emigrate into a rightwing theocracy/oligarchy, like Saudi Arabia.

Here's the thing. I always vote. I believe it's a duty, and a constitutionally protected right. I sure know that Mitt is exciting his base to turn out. Does he even have a get out the vote effort yet? He seemed to be lagging for awhile. I guess he was hoping that multiple courts wouldn't be striking down his voter suppression efforts. Too bad for him.

Even more striking, is that Obama is polling even higher in the Pew poll than the winners of the last three presidential elections did in September.

Most interesting is that I heard on the news that Bush's Brain is talking about pulling his money and backing from Mittens. It said he doesn't believe Mittens can win and that the GObP should concentrate on their congressional races so they have four more years of filibustering against jobs and economic growth.

And the poll accurately reflects the fact Romney can’t win based on hatred of Obama alone:

Not only does Obama enjoy a substantial lead in the horserace, he tops Romney on a number of key dimensions. His support is stronger than his rival’s, and is positive rather than negative. Mitt Romney’s backers are more ardent than they were pre-convention, but are still not as enthusiastic as Obama’s. Roughly half of Romney’s supporters say they are voting against Obama rather than for the Republican nominee. With the exception of Bill Clinton in 1992, candidates lacking mostly positive backing have lost in November.

Which is yet another problem for Romney: democrats are excited and positive about the election, and more likely to vote accordingly.
