WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama, seeking to fire up an important part of his support base ahead of November’s elections, told black leaders on Saturday he wanted their support to “guard the change” he was delivering.
“I need everybody here to go back to your neighborhoods, and your workplaces, to your churches, and barbershops, and beauty shops. Tell them we have more work to do. Tell them we can’t wait to organize. Tell them that the time for action is now,” he told the Congressional Black Caucus.
The words of America’s first black president showed a deliberate effort to recapture the enthusiasm that had helped him win the White House in 2008, after polls showed African- Americans much less likely to vote than whites this year.

(RCP)- “I’m one of your middle class Americans. And quite frankly, I’m exhausted. Exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the mantle of change that I voted for,” a woman told President Obama at a town hall.

Does she have any unpaid taxes? She does now.

Oooh. That stung.

The Washington Post Blog reported:
For weeks, Obama has been engaging in what some might call a bit of class warfare as he’s pushed for rolling back the Bush tax cuts for upper-income earners and leaving the middle-class breaks in place. This hasn’t set too well with big business. Nor have the sweeping financial regulations that Obama signed into law, which stripped some power from Wall Street and increased Washington’s oversight.
Monday’s town hall meeting started off on a sour note when the first questioner from the audience, a woman who said she voted for him, said she is “deeply disappointed with where I am now.”
“My husband and I thought we were beyond the hot dog and beans of our lives. … Is this my new reality?” she asked.
“I understand your frustration,” Obama said. He defended his administration’s efforts to help the middle class, listing achievements such as better protection for mortgage loans and health insurance for those with preexisting conditions.
But the hits continued.
A representative from the business community, Kenneth Langone, a co-founder of Home Depot, asked via a video feed for an explanation of what he sees as the administration’s anti-business stance.
Then a 30-year-old law school graduate said he’s no longer able to make the interest payments on his educational loans, much less able to have a mortgage or a family. He said he had been inspired by Obama’s campaign. But now, “that inspiration is dying away,” he said. “I really want to know: Is the American dream dead?”

A word of advice: you shouldn't create misleading/false subject titles that have NOTHING to do with the actual article you source/present. That way, you won't look like a typical neocon parrot or teabagger blowhard.

And right wing fucks work overtime to ship American jobs to "CHINA!"

China, socialist/communist China. Yea. THAT China.

They want to give all money to their gawds, the "rich".

They squat on the American Middle Class.

And Obama is a "socialist" because HE wants to help the American Middle Class.

China grows stronger. We grow weaker. Republicans applaud.

No wonder they let Bin Laden go.

"To the extent the Democrats address the Obama agenda at all, it is to distance themselves from it, heralding their votes against Pelosi, Reid, and Obama as badges of independence and honor. Nobody is out there saying the stimulus is working or that Obamacare is good or that the economy is recovering or that they wish we had cap and trade. The legislative program of the Obama Administration is an orphan while dissent has a thousand fathers."

Stimulus kept us from a deep depression.

The economy is recovering. Remember, under Bush, we were losing 750,000 jobs a MONTH.

The Health Care bill is very good. I've posted many links to it. Republicans keep saying they hate it, but can't say why. What they hate is the black guy in the "WHITE" House.

Republicans controlled both houses and the presidency for SIX LOOOOOONG YEARS.

During the last two years of Bush administration, the senate vote between republicans and democrats was 49 to 49.

What happened is all those six years of Republican policies finally "caught up". "NOW" is the result.

America has been trying to tell you to stop and turn around. Your inability to listen and simply forge your direction, campaigning all the way, is a total failure. Go on vacation.

Do you even read the news? Latest claim is that the recession ended in June 2009. Stimulus had nothing to do with it and has failed to do anything except drive up the deficit.

So basically the Economy was already in recovery when we spent all that money, and as this shows it is now contracting again with each passing quarter

Did he also tell them to "argue and get in their face"??

Essentially, the chart shows just how fucked up the Shrub and company left the country...and how the neocon parrots pretend that all things started with Obama stepping into office and he should have straightened it all out in less than a year. Of course, all those GOP filibusters and line vote NO just sped things along.

Thanks Chuck.

Let's see... a year after Obama took office and gdp starts dropping. I fail to see how that is not Obama's fault.

Businesses are holding back right now because they don't know for sure what is coming with all the new policies. Mostly what we see are more expenses just to be in business. We've stopped hiring and investing since we can't tell what the outcome will really be. We know it's gonna be worse, but not how much worse.

Besides, paperwork for every purchase over $600? Fucking insanity. That will force some to hire people just to handle that. Employees that bring in no income, just to do Gov't paperwork. I could hire 2 people that will bring in income, for the same cost.
