Obama To GOP: "Stop Outsourcing US Jobs"

so they are switching to talk show entertainers?

You don't believe in citizen government, where anyone who cares about the direction of the country can participate and run for office?

Do you think they enjoy being diddled by corrupt billionaries?

The billionaire Koch brothers’ war against Obama : The New Yorker

What is it with you people and the Koch brothers? You DO know that stalking is a crime, right?

Those poor misunderstood brothers.

Which does exactly nothing to answer my question. Under the circumstances, I'm going to assume there was some sort of DNC talking points memo distributed in the last week or so declaring that the Koch brothers are the "eeevil capitalist enemies of the state" du jour. Y'all are certainly obedient little sheep, I'll give you that much.

I find the notion that they're playing puppetmaster disturbing. Pardon me for bringing it up; I only found out just recently.

"Playing puppetmaster"? What, you mean because they're ::gasp!:: contributing money to politicians and political groups in hopes of affecting the tide of American politics? Last time I checked, the first part is the right of any and every American citizen, and the second part is the reason that any and every citizen who exercises that right does so.

If conservatives can live with George Soros, liberals can live with the Koch brothers. Neither is exactly the stuff of nightmares in my book.

Mostly because you aren't "looking behind the curtain". You're screeching and hollering about what you've been TOLD is behind the curtain. Truly looking behind the curtain would require you to be equally aware of and equally disturbed by BOTH sides of the issue. When's the last time you got your knickers in a knot about billionaire contributors to political agendas you AGREE with, Mad?

Off the top of my head I can't think of any billionaires I agree with, Cecilie. I like Buffett, so mebbe him.

Do you recall Ross Perot's campaign in 1992? I kinda sorta liked him, and I certainly liked the impact he had on the race. What's different about the Kohn brothers is, they're not out in front. The media spins the Tea Party story as if two nurses and plumber in Chicago dreamt it up...and that's deceptive. It makes me very uncomfy that the Kohn brothers' role has been hidden from view till now.

A shame he does not practice what he is preaching, despite telling the GOP not to do such his administration is outsourcing jobs to ASIA and Armenia:

U.S. To Train 3,000 Offshore IT Workers

Despite President Obama's pledge to retain more hi-tech jobs in the U.S., a federal agency run by a hand-picked Obama appointee has launched a $36 million program to train workers, including 3,000 specialists in IT and related functions, in South Asia.

After pledging millions to bolster outsourcing in South Asia, federal agency extends largesse to a new recipient.

Even as controversy mounts over its funding of IT outsourcers in South Asia, the U.S. Agency for International Development has announced a program under which it will partner with the government of Armenia—a nation anxious to lure computer work from American shores--to promote the development of the country's information technology industry.

It's actually more complicated. The US is paying only 10 million, the other 26 million comes from private firms. The jobs are being created to support the American companies that are there already. Unfortunately, those "American" companies are there to take advantage of cheap labor. They went there under Bush.

This is why we need a comprehensive policy. You don't get that from Republicans. Only "knee jerk" reaction. Obama is supporting American companies that went to southeast Asia under Bush, that's the bottom line.

I'm just surprised it would bother Republicans. They WANT to move American jobs overseas. Isn't that why the support corporations without exception? Don't they even start threads asking, "Who do you trust more? Government or corporations?"

US jobs were outsourced to foreign countries under the Bush Regime in numbers never before seen, but don't talk about that...Bush is innocent you see.

RepubliCON$ crack me up.

HILARIOUS!!!!

Bush did it. So let's make it worse.

Brilliant logic.

Just ANOTHER Bush/Republican mess Obama was expected to fix in two years.

Wouldn't have been difficult to fix. Cut taxes. Cut spending deregulate manufacturing and let the companies move back.

Course you guys prefer the raise taxes, increase spending, and regulate to squeeze the life out of people.

Hows that working?

I didn't ask you which billionaires you LIKED, Mad. I asked you when was the last time you got all screechy and upset over a billionaire contributing to agendas you agree with. You've got your panties all in a twist over the Koch brothers, but I sincerely doubt you've ever had the same reaction to the same thing on the other side.

Why SHOULD the Kochs be "out in front"? They're political donors, not politicians. Since when does donating to causes require one to hold a press conference if one doesn't wish to? As far as "hidden from view" goes, I haven't seen any sign that their donations aren't a matter of public record, just like anyone else's. Just because you have to go looking for the info instead of having it spoonfed to you while you play couch potato doesn't mean anyone's keeping sinister secrets.

I want that kind of influence purchasing forbidden to ALL.

It amazes me that someone with a Harvard degree and of course, NO LICENSE TO PRACTICE law could be so incredibly stupid. He'd be better off carving spears like his daddy.

I wonder if Americans who actually claim membership of either party ever get tired of being played by a bunch of corrupt bastards that don't give a shit about them? I find it puzzling that so many seemingly normal people are so breathtakingly stupid. Personally, if a politician told me the time, I'd need independent verification before I believed it.

I'd say the Tea Party movement is an indication that yes, people ARE tired of being played by corrupt politicians.

I hope you don't smoke.... wouldn't want your strawman to burn.

I notice a trend with you, usc.... any time you can't address the topic, you derail it with some stupid remark designed to move the topic in another direction. Why do you do that? And... do you think everyone else is too stupid to notice it?
