Obama: The Future Must Not Belong to Those Who Slander The Prophet of Islam

It is sad to see the conservative movement become dominated by hate like this...

Yeah, right, the guy who hates Mormons is whining about conservative "hate."

That is so beautifully liberal!

Hating on the basis of race is wrong.

Hating on the basis of an insane cult is sensible.

Mormonism is a cult. It's just a cult with a nice letterhead.

Our problems with "Islam" is that we keep sticking our dicks in a hornet's nest and wondering why we get stung. Period.

So you are saying that Islam represent a bunch of angry hornets??

I'm saying the Middle East does. Not just the Jihadists but the Zionists, too.

But here's the thing about hornets. If you don't mess with them, they usually don't bother with you. They just go about their business. You screw with their nest, they attack you.

We get stung because we keep trying to influence events over there, and then it usually blows up in our faces. Sometimes because the guys we back become hated by the people they abuse (Mubarek, the Shah) sometimes because the guys we back end up turning on us (Bin Ladin, Saddam Hussien).

Sorry bout that,

1. So this sack of shit president says, "Those who slander Mohamed have no or should not have a future???
2. Sounds like he is saying I *must die*!!!
3. I say *Fuck You Obama* and *Fuck Mohamed*!!!!
4. And if you want me dead, *fucking bring it on mother fucker* (yippie kie yeah)!!!
5. Like I've been saying all along obama is a fucking muslim, Madonna and I agree, he is a bag of crap lying bastard, claiming to be a Christian, but indeed he's a muslim shit stain!
6. Oh,..and Mohamed was a pedophile, who likes to fuck little girls, and also was a murderer.

Is Mitt Romney's Joseph Smith a "true prophet?"

As opposed to someone else's Joseph Smith?

And yes, Joseph Smith Jr was a Prophet of God.

That's completely irrelevant to the fact that merely voicing a belief that Mohammad is not a prophet is considered slander. It has been for over 1000 years.

Read about the Martyrs of Cordoba sometime. These Christians were put to death for preaching the Gospel and "slandering" the prophet by saying he wasn't one. Is that really the future we want for our lives, our culture, or our nation?

People should be free to speak their minds. Sometimes that means allowing crappy thoughts to be spoken.

Read about the Mountain Meadows Massacre Some time... These Christians were put to death because one of them joked about shooting Joseph Smith in IL.

Oh, but that was a "misunderstanding". The Mormons really are nice people. Really.

How is pointing out that this ASSHOLE who made a film that was so offensive he had to lie to the actors who were in it about what they were making was a jerk really a bad thing?

Our problems with "Islam" is that we keep sticking our dicks in a hornet's nest and wondering why we get stung. Period.

Sorry, but in this case, there was no physical dick in the hornets nest. No boots on the ground, nothing. Just a movie. Words and pictures.

Last I checked, when you have a bee hive and the bees from within said hive are stinging you just for speaking within earshot, you exterminate them.

Not saying we should exterminate Muslims, just pointing out what a shitty analogy you've made.

So it's wrong to hate Muslims, but okay to hate Mormons?

Where do you differentiate religions from cults?

Why didn't he say something more reasonable, like the future must not belong to those who murder innocent people for no good reason?

Obama: “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam” « Hot Air

He said it along with a lot of other "the future must not" and that is quite different from only saying that one sentence. He is boltering all religions and freedom of speech and saying the future must not belong to those who commit slander against any religion (in other words freedom of speech but not freedom to kill and maim becasue of those beliefs). He is saying the future must not belong to all these people/ideologies and more.

He has lumped them all together so in context it doesn't sound like he is supporting only Islam.

It is time to leave the call of violence and the politics of division behind. On so many issues, we face a choice between the promise of the future or the prisons of the past, and we cannot afford to get it wrong. We must seize this moment, and America stands ready to work with all who are willing to embrace a better future.

[and]

The future must not belong to those who target Coptic Christians in Egypt. It must be claimed by those in Tahrir Square who chanted, "Muslims, Christians, we are one." The future must not belong to those who bully women. It must be shaped by girls who go to school and those who stand for a world where our daughters can live their dreams just like our sons.

(APPLAUSE)

The future must not belong to those corrupt few who steal a country's resources. It must be won by the students and entrepreneurs, the workers and business owners who seek a broader prosperity for all people. Those are the women and men that America stands with. There's is the vision we will support.

[and]

The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. But to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see in the images of Jesus Christ that are desecrated or churches that are destroyed, or the Holocaust that is denied.

(APPLAUSE)

Let us condemn incitement against Sufi Muslims and Shia pilgrims. It's time to heed the words of Gandhi, "Intolerance is itself a form of violence and an obstacle to the growth of a true democratic spirit."

(APPLAUSE)

Together, we must work towards a work where we are strengthened by our differences, and not defined by them. That is what America embodies. That's the vision we will support. Among Israelis and Palestinians, the future must not belong to those who turn their backs on the prospect of peace. Let us leave behind those who thrive on conflict, those who reject the right of Israel to exist.

It certainly bolsters Christianity, Judaism and Islam. It does not, however, IN ANY WAY bolster free speech. In fact, in several places it actually implies that speech that offends these religions is wrong.

That's the problem here. Not that he's endorsing Islam. It's the fact that he places a religious person's "right" to not be offended higher than he places the right to free speech. The particular religion to which he refers is incidental. No matter how you dress up the context, this much is undeniable: it illustrated that free speech is second to "religious tolerance".

U must have missed this part

"We understand why people take offense to this video because millions of our citizens are among them. I know there are some who ask why don't we just ban such a video. The answer is enshrined in our laws. Our Constitution protects the right to practice free speech.

Here in the United States, countless publications provoke offense. Like me, the majority of Americans are Christian, and yet we do not ban blasphemy against our most sacred beliefs. As president of our country, and commander in chief of our military, I accept that people are going to call me awful things every day, and I will always defend their right to do so.

Americans have fought and died around the globe to protect the right of all people to express their views -- even views that we profoundly disagree with. We do so not because we support hateful speech, but because our founders understood that without such protections, the capacity of each individual to express their own views and practice their own faith may be threatened.

It's on page 3.

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
Revelation 16 Verse 13

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone
Revelation 19 verse 20

Well, actually, the movie was more like us standing around like idiots taunting after we spent an hour screwing the hornet's nest.

If you don't think we are hip deep in these problems, you are deluded.

Thinking some things are wrong is different than banning it or killing over it. This is what Obama meant. Included in "free speech" is the right to have an opinion about what is said.

You're allowed to have an opinion, you're just not allowed to express that opinion violently.

At least, not in CIVILIZED countries...

If anything fits the definition of "insane cult," it's Islam.
