If Obama doesn't get help from other Middle Eastern countries and Europe, then I hope bombing is as far as he goes.

Republicans have let Middle Eastern sheiks turn this country into their personal "attack dogs" and it needs to stop.

Some right winger in another thread said those in the Middle East can't be "allowed" to police their own part of the world. That it's up to us to do it for them. The sentiment is understandable coming from people who practice voter suppression here and want to legislate women's bodies. Syria is an independent sovereign country with a president and a government. We have not been invited in as we were in Iraq. We have taken sides in a purely internal civil war. We have no right to go into Syria to do anything. Bombing inside Syria would violate their air space and be an act of war justifying retaliation. As Syria is a client state of Russia, retaliation could well be by Russian forces.

Russia knows this, which is why they have been buzzing off the US west coast.
