Obama Signs Onto Stem Cell Order!

Priorities,, do something about stem cells, let the economy suck wind.. yep :clap2:

Our long national nightmare is over.

Our climb back has begun.

Once again, I know this is hard for you to understand but stem cell research has been going forward without a problem for the past decade. Most people hadnt even heard of President Obama with President Bush authorized it federal funding for stem cells.

The heart of the debate is should the government be funding it? And the simple answer is: No. The government has no authority to fund stem cell research. Let private companies do it. Let the States do it if they want. The Federal government is limited to the authority given to it by the United States constitution. And this project doesnt fall under anything.

Dr. Huang's work in embryonic stem cell research was Bogus. He even admitted so when caught falsifying experiments. Science has since then eclipsed him totally, as legitimate discoveries making embryonic stem cells not necessary are happening with alarming regularity. Adult stem cells and placental/umbilical stem cells are two examples.

This long demagogued embryonic stem cell research WAS funded by Bush, the only President ever to do so. He however didn't want them going over the 60 existing embryonic stem cell lines they already had.

Because as it turned out, they didn't need to. Now instead of Congress re-introducing their funding bill Bush vetoed because they knew he would and wanted him to, we have The Obama spending taxpayer monies now on Executive Order.

Where's all you "abuse of power" driods now?

they've slithered away!

Oh goody we are now going to start pouring money down a particular rat hole in the Stem cell research environment that most of the rest of the world has already figured out doesn't work.

Stem cells can be collected from a wide variety of sources and have been since Bush limited government funding of Embryonic stem cell research. Virtually every place else other than Embryos has yielded some impressive reul;ts and has held out promises of cures for more diseases than I can think of right off hand but embryonic stem cells have proven thus far to be a blind alley.

Like it or not thus far the only thing the Bush policy did was save us money chasing down a blind alley.
