Q: California needs, I think, $13 billion by July to avoid bakruptcy. Woud you say you're in close consultation about potential federal bailouts?

A. Well, I wouldn't use the word "bailout" or "federal." [Laughter]

Take it for what it's worth, but from that comment, it looks like CA is on its own.

It's time they realize, just like the feds do, that it's time to start living within their means. If their own citizens refuse to pay the taxes, then cut the damn programs that are eating away at their budget. It's simple for Christ sakes.

Same with the feds. We know that our biggest problem is with SS and Medicare. Cut those programs by raising the retirement age and age when benefits can be collected, so that the programs become solvent again. It's not rocket science.

Liberals are a funny bunch. One minute they are telling us SS and Medicare are not "problems" and justification for government grabbing all of healthcare too. And that they won't have to cut healthcare back, too, when money runs out.

As you know, Californians are taxed more than anyone else in the country. So it ain't the taxes.
