Obama should pardon all that are serving time for smoking a leaf

You are correct Timmy, according to the department of Justice report from several years ago possession did not land you in prison, intent to distribute, and sell did, however, with minor time spent, or sentences waived. In fact states released "minor crime" as defined by hemp related during the period of overcrowding. Now selling, smuggling, transporting, cocaine, heroin, crack.... are different stories.
i know a guy who did a year because he had a 1/2 oz on him when he was pulled over for doing 10 miles per over the speed limit.....he was not sentenced for speeding....
He wasn't sentenced for smoking, either.

If he was sentenced for a year, then he had priors. Most likely he violated his probation and was sent back to serve whatever his original sentence was.
did i say he was smoking?......he was sentenced for the half ounce on him and he had no priors........

So it was possession.

Nobody in the history of the world has ever served a year for possession of half an ounce in the US. Sorry, somebody is pulling your leg.

i don't know what state you are in but 1/2 oz or less could get you jailed for up to 30 days in Tennessee. Folks, don't listen to Kosher Girl... a lot of Bible belt states and southern states can be harsh on marijuana users. If you use it most likely you are in possession of it or in possession of associated paraphernalia. Be careful when traveling and know the laws of each state into which you journey.

Obama should pardon all that are serving time for smoking a leaf...Yep, he should blanket pardon every person that was wrongly imprisoned because of our stupid laws against smoking pot.

He should then spend the rest of his presidency to get it legalized federally.

Sure, no reason to jail people who buy the products of terrorist drug cartels and keep the violent assholes in business. LMAO
The majority of drugs sold by a cartel is gonna be the smaller packages, but it won't be weed....

105 tons of marijuana seized in Baja California

About 10,000 packages of marijuana were hidden inside six cargo containers stored in a warehouse in an industrial area of the border city of Tijuana. The marijuana was discovered after police on routine patrol intercepted a convoy of vehicles escorting a tractor-trailer that had left the warehouse, officials said.

After a shootout, 11 people were arrested. Police and soldiers, acting on information from the suspects, raided the warehouse and two homes near the coast, where smaller amounts of marijuana were found.

You didn't read the last sentence of Matthew's post did you? If MJ is legalized the drug cartels would be out of business. Criminalizing marijuana is keeping drug cartels in business....THINK!

Keep thinking that, black market marijuana in states where it's legal is still a big business, people don't want to pay the taxes.

Is Black Market Marijuana Winning in Colorado?

According to an original report by Travelers Today, a travel website dabbling in offbeat news and pseudo journalism, much of Colorado’s stoner society, specifically college students, have continued to purchase marijuana from the black market due to the overall cost involved in obtaining a legal buzz.

Then it would have no use in medicine, right? All that THC oil being given to children for seizures is worthless, after all it's not a drug?

Those are the maximum sentencing guidelines...people don't spend time in prison for just possession of small amounts of pot anywhere in the country.

Can't people grow their own? Perhaps Co-op marijuana farms are the way to go for MJ fans.
