Obama should declare himself willing to allow damage to the economy.

    Seriously.

" Mr. Obama should hang tough, declaring himself willing, if necessary, to hold his ground even at the cost of letting his opponents inflict damage on a still-shaky economy. And this is definitely no time to negotiate a “grand bargain” on the budget that snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.
In saying this, I don’t mean to minimize the very real economic dangers posed by the so-called fiscal cliff that is looming at the end of this year if the two parties can’t reach a deal. Both the Bush-era tax cuts and the Obama administration’s payroll tax cut are set to expire, even as automatic spending cuts in defense and elsewhere kick in thanks to the deal struck after the 2011 confrontation over the debt ceiling. And the looming combination of tax increases and spending cuts looks easily large enough to push America back into recession.
Nobody wants to see that happen. Yet it may happen all the same, and Mr. Obama has to be willing to let it happen if necessary. "

And this is the way progressivism works. Punish the people, take what you want, let them suffer or even die.

Do you want to keep running the current deficits, for the sake of keeping people employed?

Isn't that what Boehner's doing? Let the Republicans commit political suicide. They seem to be taking a page out of the Japanese samurai ethic, when you lose you finish the job by finishing yourself off. I'd be happy to lend them the knife. :2up:

Of course, it has always been his stance that it's okay to hurt Americans in order to establish socialism, negative eugenics and a culture of death.

He's pure dictator in that sense. But he's going to be a lot more open about it, and the left is going to be a lot more vocal in what it is, exactly, they want (suffering) from this admin.

The morons who voted this group in are going to get exactly what they thought they wanted. And they're going to find they don't want it so much.

Repubs gonna have to go back on campaign promises to work out a compromise...

November 8,`12 - To avoid “fiscal cliff,” House Republicans may have to break campaign promises

Did you know like Romney in the 2012 Presidential Loser Election, when America stayed Blue, the Good Ship Wingnut has taken hold of the economic argument that is a loser for them? Yep, they ran out of ammo and have now resorted to plastic mallets and water pistols.

Oh yeah, they have talking points now...taxing the Super Wealthy will not settle the debt (not that anyone actually says it will) and other imbecilic straw man arguments

    four thread

He's still our president as well, Jillian. Electing him didn't establish a dictatorship in this country. Not yet, anyway. Lefties need to remember that.
