His last sentence says it all....Most of the violence in our country comes from our inner cities and the gang atmosphere. The weapons used are not assault weapons, generally speaking. An assault weapon ban would do nothing to alleviate this problem.

The difference is Romney could actually destroy our right to privacy with just one or two Supreme Court appointments; that’s not the case for Obama, the best he can do is maintain the Court’s current political make-up: with five justices supporting privacy rights, and five justices supporting Second Amendment rights.
