He and Vice President Biden will take steps to ensure that the federal government will never again allow such catastrophic failures in emergency planning and response to occur.”

And of course we are treated to comments from Gibbs that they are 'Gonna keep their boot on the throat of BP'

We know full well what this is all about. It gives this administration the Statist Congress fodder to further regulate an industry that is already over-regulated, causing higher prices here in the US...to further their agenda...by their demegogoury of this catastrophe...

Washington (AP) - The economic stimulus signed by President Barack Obama will spread billions of dollars across the country to spruce up aging roads and bridges. But there's not a dime specifically dedicated to fixing leftover damage from Hurricane Katrina.

And there's no outrage about it.

Democrats who routinely criticized President George W. Bush for not sending more money to the Gulf Coast appear to be giving Obama the benefit of the doubt in his first major spending initiative.

What happened there was a broken and bloated system that was rotten to the core starting at the Federal Level and seeping down to the State and Local Levels.

Believe me Mississippi didn't fair all that well either, there were just less major super-domes filled with tens of thousands of starving people to focus on.

What you had in Mississippi was really bad hurricane damage that ripped up the coast. Comparable to Andrew, Ivan, and other major cat 4 storms. What you had in New Orleans was a major city under water with tens of thousands of stranded refugees abandoned with no food, water, or support. Two totally different situations.

Nobody is justify Nagin or the Governor's reactions.

The fact is though FEMA had it's own issues during Katrina and the unnecessary and ridiculous bureaucracy surrounding it caused confusion on various levels.

As a neo-coon you should know this, but people like yourself are to retarded and partisan to realize that the feds under Bush and Obama have failed almost routinely at everything.

That includes:
The war.
Passing legitimate health reform.
The Drug War.
Katrina.
The Wall Street Crisis.
