Obama Poll Numbers Continue Decline

See the Obama's decidedley more positive spin in the news cycles now.

He is quite aware of the downward trend of his polling - particularly the rise in negatives.

The language is starting to prove far more pro-business/tax cuts than just a few weeks ago - a remarkable shift in such a short time that shows more than a bit of concern from within the White House. I give them credit for this change as it at least shows the ability to digest public sentiment and change course accordingly.

Sadly, the Democrat Congress remains oblivious...

You know, I don't think changing course because he's digested public sentiment is particularly reassuring right now. We need someone in charge that knows EXACTLY what needs to be done and doesn't shift everytime the political wind does.

I would agree with that.

And yet Bush had 92 percent at one time and had a higher percentage at this point in his presidency than Obama has now and he did not even have the popular vote according to the records. And Bush maintained over 70 for months.

He had 92% in the aftermath of 9-11, when we all thought that he would go after the terrorists. But his "wanted dead or alive" statement turned out the be bullshit, just like everythings else about him.

I wonder if the stimulus package and the budget bill both with earmarks, in the first 50 days had anything to do with the poll numbers?
Fair minded democrats, and vindictive republicans geeze, that's rich.

Rich but true.

So, Dubya I., It was those "fair minded democrats" with all the lies crying for Bush to fail? That's what I meant about "rich"..idiot.
It's what's known as politics, and is expected that there will always be opposition to the other party. But, don't go touting that dems are fair minded, and the repubs are vindictive. You show your lack of knowledge.

There was damned few Americans that wanted Bush to fail. We wanted to get the people that murdered 3000 of our fellow citizens, and were looking forward to seeing Bin Laden's head on a pike. Instead, we got a song and dance, a bunch of lies, concerning WMD in Iraq. And Bush FUBARed that little adventure beyond belief. So he went from 92% approval to less than 30% approval. Then, of course, there is the little matter of Katrina, and a "Fundementally sound economy".

I'm seeing a pattern here.

Mostly people try to discuss issues bring forth facts and logic. I'd say about half of us at least make an attmpt to engage in discussion.

Then we the nitwits who contribute nothing but bile and venom.

They know nothing, they contribute nothing and they are essantially worthless.

You know who you are.

You're worthless.

I try, even if coming with bias. I don't like 'blanket statements' from either side. Not all 'liberals' are marxists. Not all that think Obama is still alright are socialists.

On the other hand, not every person in disagreement, not even most are 'wingnuts'. We simply disagree with what he's doing and believe we and our representatives should be heard.

"All, too, will bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression"-Thomas Jefferson

And just who would that person be that knows exactly what needs to be done right now?

That would be Nancy Pelosi...right Old Rocks?

Sadly she has had more influence on the legislative course during the last 2 months than has Obama...

When all we hear is the drone that all liberals are marxists, then really, they are saying nothing.

They say nothing because they KNOW nothing.

Old Rocks...at least tell the truth and not the conspiracy theory that you covet. You know as well as I that our intelligence was broken...not because of Bush, It must have been from the prior administration. Other major countries intelligence had stated that there were WMD's. Hell, he used them on his own people. We gave him plenty of time by beating the war drums to have them sent out of country..like Syria, or have them destroyed. So when you say "a bunch of lies"...your blowing your Bush hating liberal smoke.
What about Katrina? Seems that left wing governor may have had a role to play in her own state...oh yeah it's Bush's fault. The damn left wing mayor had a role to play...oh yeah, it's Bush's fault. There is plenty of blame to go around, but the last to hit should be the federal government with this, not the only blame. The feds had allocated money for the levy's in the past, and the state spent it else where.
Old Rock's your nothing but a hater.

In all fairness, I think there are way fewer of them than liberals in the past, accusing GW out to kill any and all. I was here in 2003/4 when they're here were en mass, when it was a 'very' conservative board. I like a poster like Divecon, except when he's in the 'mode' of f that, and moron. He has a point-of-view that should be heard. Truly see little difference between him, and say 'abikersailor' or 'old rocks'?

Has he changed course?

Other than him waking up and realizing that having said all earmarks were evil was a dumb thing to say, I mean?

Two months into office, Obama's job approval rating is 61 percent, according to Gallup polling. That number has been relatively stable so far this month but has dropped from the 68 percent when the president took office. The major factor has been a decline in support among Republicans, from 41 percent to 26 percent. -Duh - If he succeeds, we lose -screw the country.
A separate poll out Monday by the Pew Research Center put Obama's approval at 59 percent, slipping from 64 percent last month. The Pew poll found that a growing number of Americans see him as listening more to the liberals than to the moderates in the Democratic Party.

Don't forget that Bush's eary poll numbers reflected fair minded Democrats giving the new President a chance while Obama's early poll numbers reflect the vindictive Republican Party of NO!

Honestly , I would never use the terms Democrat and Fairminded together. Who you are calling the "party of NO!" are just seeing through obama. He's a joke. Where are your fairminded democrats now? Your power hungry, liberal, "fairminded democrats". It seems they are expanding the government right now, so fairminded.
