We got from the stone age to here by buying what was cheaper and better no matter if it was made next door or in the next country. Any interference merely slows down the growth in our standard of living and makes our economy less than world class which is why we have free trade and why most economists support free trade.

At every recognizable opportunity the colonial governments acted upon those concepts. That’s why their representatives to the constitutional assembly thought it necessary that with regard for our United States, individual states' interests within interstate relationships should be subordinate to our national government.
Within our federal, state and local laws there are many types of contracts and practices that are recognized to be contrary to our society’s interests and deemed to be illegal. I don’t doubt that you are fully aware of all of this.

You do not accept the contention that trade deficits are ALWAYS detrimental to their nations’ economies. That is the issue we’re debating.

You’re further arguing that regardless of our nation’s self interests, we should unquestionably and absolutely always subordinate our self-interests to that of the global community?
You believe that's a conservative position contrary to what you conceive to be a liberal position?
Regardless of trade deficits’ net affects upon their nations’’ GDPs, It’s “stupid” not to sobordinate the net interests of USA wage and salary earners to the interests of other nations?
