Obama on Fallon now....cool man...

Well Obama's coolness factor is infinite...how can you put a number of threads on that? :)

This is a cheap trick to try and win over the young people. Of course, if any of them were paying attention to politics a few years ago, they'd know it was the Democrats who passed legislation to double the rates on federal student loans and they just happened to set the rate to increase in an election year. Convenient when you might need some crisis to fix, just create one. So, they created the crisis and now he comes out and acts like he has the solution. He will request that the banks ignore the law passed by the Dem controlled congress and expect people to think he's done them a favor. This is the same old tactic we've seen before and I wonder how many will fall for it. Of course, Obama didn't bother showing up to vote on the legislation, but knew about it. I'd like someone to ask him if he would have gone along with party lines. Can anyone name a time when he sided with Republicans on anything?

In 2007, the Democratic majority in Congress enacted legislation to double interest rates on new federal student loans from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent in 2012.

Turns out that President Obama, who is currently aggressively pushing to extend the low-interest rates on subsidized student loans, didn’t even bother to leave the campaign trail and vote for the original bill in 2007

We are being lectured in another thread here about respecting the office of the President even if you don't respect the man.

This President has done an awful lot to cheapen the office of the Presidency with all the appearances on these shows and on the campaign trail being the jokester all the time.

Obama's appearance on Fallon's show violated campaign finance law.

The equal time rule states that if a licensee permits a person “who is a legally qualified candidate for any public office to use a broadcasting station, he shall afford equal opportunities to all other such candidates for that office in the use of such broadcasting station.”

There are exceptions to the rule: appearances on (1) a bona fide newscast, (2) a bona fide news interview, (3) a bona fide news documentary, or (4) on-the-spot coverage of bona fide news events.

Only the second provision could be construed as saving NBC from giving Mitt Romney equal time. But this was not a bona fide news interview. In fact, it wasn’t an interview at all – no questions were asked, no answers were given. It was literally Obama reading a campaign speech over a guitar, a horn, a keyboard, and some drums.

Not only was this appearance in violation of equal time law, it was clearly an in-kind contribution by NBC to the Obama campaign. As the Federal Elections Commission states, “A donation of services is … considered an in-kind contribution.” Under applicable law, contribution of broadcast time is considered such a service. This was a campaign commercial for Obama, and the Obama campaign was not charged for it. A minute of network time can cost up to a couple million dollars; this segment ran a full five minutes. There is no doubt that Obama was given millions of dollars of free advertising time, and the Romney campaign should invoke all available law to make that clear.

NBC should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Mitt Romney should be given equal time, and an equally sycophantic propaganda piece by Fallon. Obama should be ashamed of himself (though, of course, he has no capacity for shame).

He reminds me of a father who's more interested in trying to fit in with his teenage kid's friends and be the "cool" dad, instead of placing his parental responsibilities as the priority.

I'm sure the guys at Brietbart's site know some lawyers - if this is so cut-and-dried, why don't they take Obama to court?

(because they know they'd lose)

Every night I get home and turn on the TV to see the days events.
There's Obama out and about somewhere.
Out there speech a fyin ...appearing on Leno or Letterman.

Does this President EVER spend ANY time in the WH?

You know doing his job.

awwwwww.... poor baby.

yeah, he should let mittens have alllllllllll the press til the general election. :cuckoo:

No... but I am sick of paying for his campaigning.
If he payed for the trip there, Im good, but I know and you know that was'nt the case.

One more thing.... it would have been real leadership if he would have used it as an opurtunity to denounced all the violence being tied to to the Trayvon Martin case.
But then again, most of us can see the emperor has no clothes.

It was another waste of secret service time and jet fuel by the Whore in Chief....... wait....... Ho In Chief. Anyone watching that hack fag Fallon's pathetic show is already stupid enough to vote for this clown again. He gained nothing.

Obama would simply charge his defense to the taxpayer.

I figure if he loses the election he's got a long list of charges coming his way.

If he threw me a beer party I might vote for him.
