Let's see here... Clinton lost the health care debate, and America got into a deeper recession 1981 - 1983 under Reagan. In fact, the last time the unemployment rate hit 10%, Reagan was president!

Yeah! Both did fabulous the first years in office!!

The Reagan Boom ended in Nov 2008

if by that you mean big corporate America running amuck and shitting on the American people and being in the back pocket of presidents then I guess you would be right on that one.

When polls show his support dropping steadily as well as support for his specific policies and his party, Obama seems to think that his cronies and he have simply not repeated the same unbelievable statements often, clearly, or loudly enough. It is as if John Edwards had taken the position, when his infidelity was exposed, that he simply needed to get in front of the television camera as often as possible repeating his lies as persuasively as he could....

Obama, while possessing many of the campaigning gifts of these presidents, has shown no ability to govern at all. This is a very dangerous situation for our nation. Our leader is a man whose ignorance, in many areas of history and policy, is simply appalling. He is rather like the "President in the Plastic Bubble." Obama's entire life has been insulated from any sense of reality of the nation he governs.

Results after seven months

- Entering office with an economy in collapse (the market was in the process of dropping from 12000 to 6500) Obama took initiative to ease the panic on Wall Street, prop up the banks, save the auto companies. Market is up 15% since Obama took office
- Leading economists concur we should be out of the recession by the fall
- Facing worldwide disdain for the US and the former president, Obama went on a world wide tour patching damaged relationships. US image is up to levels from before Bush
- Ended the despicable practice of the US engaging in torture
- Initiated phase 1 of Iraq withdrawal. Removing US troops from cities
- Escalated Afghanistan action to start driving back Taliban forces that were allowed to prosper under Bush
- Reinstated environmental protections that were watered down under Bush
- After 50 years, began to re-establish ties with Cuba

All in seven months. Looks like it will be a long time before we see a republican president
