Obama Neg-reps Bush 28 Times in 50 Minutes

In his remarks on detainee treatment and trials at the National Archives today, President Obama made 28 negative references to the Bush Administration in 51 minutes.

That's about once in every 100 seconds after you deduct for his time spent telling us about his own historical experience. This seems a little extreme.

And some might well find this to be good and appropriate conduct for a president, but since there seems to be no abatement, and even evidence of an increase, won't the public grow tired of this and lose patience with less than noble behavior by the man who's expected to take charge? Trouble is, to point it out is to whine. If Bush had done the same the press would have given him no rest on that issue.

You act like Bush is your boyfriend. Why are you so invested in defending his honor?

Dumbay destroyed your party, and was the worst president in modern history.

He deserves every bit of ridicule he gets. Especially from republicans. He destroyed your party almost single handidly. Why doesn't that piss you off? Are you still secretly in love with the dude you voted for twice? Are you still a closet George Bush fan? Why on earth are you defending his honor?

Thankfully Obama will destroy the Dems now, sadly he will likely take the entire country with him thanks to the damage Bush did.

Obama tells everyone to quit pointing fingers....then points his finger 28 times. That is just too rich.

That's politics, they can't ever take the blame or they look "bad". I would vote for, regardless of ideals, with any one politician who actually stood up and said to the nation:

"I fucked up, sorry, I did it. Would you let me try to fix it?"

Honesty ... a dead horse in the White House.

exactly....most of them can't even see their own hypocrisy, its legitimate speaking out if you're a dem complaining about a repub, but if you're a repub speaking out against a dem, its whining...

me thinks they whine too much about people speaking out...

Face it dude. The lefties have won the propaganda war for the past 10 years. Now we're paying for it.

Oh what the fuck ever...

What an idiotic statement. Why the sensitivity? Why don't you just grow up? I admired GW and Cheney, and still do. Either one is twce the man OB is, and your "closet" inference is just as idiotic as the rest of your post. Go calm down.

When you're handed a shit sandwhich like Bush did to Obama, you keep reminding the people. Otherwise the right wing spin machine will try and make the whole mess your fault.

Plus with the Dirty Dick playing his game to cover his slimey ass, Obama has every right to point out where the Bush/Cheney boys fucked up.

You can't see your own mote, Yurt. You called the lefties whiners when Bush was in power, now the tune has changed.

In one hundred plus days, there have been more bitches by the right than in the 8 years bush was screwing up our country.

It seems that some conservatives are just really poor losers.

Back to the speeches, boys.

While the Obama speech was excellent, and a high point in political oratory, the Cheney speech was far more substantive.

And I'll bet you missed this one from the Cheney speech:

"This might explain why President Obama has reserved unto himself the right to order the use of enhanced interrogation should he deem it appropriate. What value remains to that authority is debatable, given that the enemy now knows exactly what interrogation methods to train against, and which ones not to worry about….It's almost gone unnoticed that the president has retained the power to order the same methods in the same circumstances. When they talk about interrogations, he and his administration speak as if they have resolved some great moral dilemma in how to extract critical information from terrorists. Instead they have put the decision off, while assigning a presumption of moral superiority to any decision they make in the future."

The operative portion, again:
"President Obama has reserved unto himself the right to order the use of enhanced interrogation should he deem it appropriate."

Bingo!

Can you spell "Hypocrite"?
