Obama needs to quit working with Republicans "behind the scenes"

Obama needs to "go public".

For some reason, he is lost in this fantasy that the Republican leadership "cares about the middle class".

Stop already. They get the bulk of their money from a handful of billionaires.

Remember what Republican leaders where calling the unemployed just before the last election? Hobos and people that will spend their unemployment on drugs. Remember when they threatened to cut unemployment benefits if the Bush tax cuts weren't extended?

Republicans aren't holding back helping the Middle Class to stop Obama. They only have one real policy - cut taxes for the rich and for corporations. They don't offer jobs bills because they don't subscribe to those policies. Cut taxes is all they have.

Besides, we already know they are blocking anything the Democrats try to do.

People voted during the last election thinking that Democrats weren't cleaning up Republicans mess fast enough. They figured things couldn't get worse. Then look at what Republicans have done since that election. They've already told us their one policy.

That's the real "choice" for the next election. Billionaires or us.

Obama needs to put his policies "out in the open" and show the American people what Republicans are up to. Look at the unpopular "Ryan Plan" (now the Republican Plan). We need to get more of that "exposed".

Is Obama the one with the fantasy? Or is it you? What makes you think Obama cares about the middle class any more than the Republicans? He seems pretty intent on advancing the same agenda. How far will you follow someone just because they are 'Democrat'?

I agree, Obama and the democrats need to "go public" and let their hatred of corporations and American energy and the Flag and Christianity and the Chamber of Commerce and banks be the basis of their political message. Say it loud, "I'm socialist and proud". It would make the 2012 election so much clearer.

Obama is too busy on the GOLF COURSE to be working with anyone.

Currently there are 18,000 babyboomers entering medicare/social security DAILY which will continue for the next 15 years. This amounts to 64 trillion in unfunded liabilites or $534,000.00 per household in America owed to the Federal Government. This on top of the 14.3 trillion in red ink we're at today.

$1 billion dollars.jpg

1 billion dollars ($100.00 bills stacked on palets)

$trillion dollars.jpg

1 trillion dollars ($100.00 bills stacked on palets) NOTE: How small the man is in this chart.

Frankly--there isn't enough wealth in this entire country for the Federal Government to confiscate to pay this tab. Democrats have no plan--so they attack Paul Ryans plan and use their typical Mediscare rhetoric.

Wow, the Democrats and Republicans sure have you fooled don't they? Where did you get the idea that they're on different teams?

Well, it shouldnt be difficult for him to quit something he has never started.

The US constitution was built on the idea that no one party should run roughshod over the rights of the minority. Compromise is and always has been the way things work. It keeps tempers cool and prevents folks from shooting at each other, most of the time.

Obama also has to recognize that he has a very small majority to work with in the Senate, and his party is in the very small minority in the house. His attitude of "In your face" to the minority and the majority of the electorate cost his party more than 60 (13%) seats in the house in the last election, and 15% of the contested seats in the senate.

He needs to listen more, and be willing to make deals. He is not an autocrat like Nicholas II, Louis XVI or Charles I of England.

It really would help if the Democrats actually put out some kind of plan of their own. Republicans have a legitimate gripe that the Dems refuse to do anything but complain about theirs. Granted, I doubt Republicans would ever be willing to discuss any plan put out by the Dems, but the fact is, until the Dems actually put out a plan that makes some kind of sense, the Republicans can and will use it against them. And who knows, maybe if the Dems put something concrete out there, it is possible that enough Republicans might be willing to discuss some compromises.

In the end, we have to cut some spending and we have to raise revenue. Both sides are going to have to give on each a little if we are to make any progress.

Obama doesn't WORK. You guys are forgetting that he was a community organizer--and they delegate work to others. That is Obama's motus of operende. Republicans have called for him to sit down and talk about this sky-rocketing deficit crisis. He sends Joe Biden over occasionally while he goes out and plays golf. Therefore, how can he compromise when he doesn't know what's going on?

I agree. He is supposed to be all about being open. I am tired of the government trying to hide everything from us.

For some reason, he is lost in this fantasy that the Republican leadership "cares about the middle class".

Why would he think that, he know they don't care any more about them than the Democrats do.

So does he.

Remember what Republican leaders where calling the unemployed just before the last election? Hobos and people that will spend their unemployment on drugs. Remember when they threatened to cut unemployment benefits if the Bush tax cuts weren't extended?

Remember what the Democrats called the same people?

Have you found the Democratic plan to reduce the deficit? Save Medicare? The budget? How long has it been since we had one now? Does the number 790 mean anything to you?

Besides, we already know they are blocking anything the Democrats try to do.

What are the Democrats trying to do? The last bill I saw introduced by a Democrat was to force Obama to call of the war in Libya.

People voted during the last election thinking that Democrats weren't cleaning up Republicans mess fast enough. They figured things couldn't get worse. Then look at what Republicans have done since that election. They've already told us their one policy.

Is that what they thought? Could it be possible they were just fed up with the government in general and wanted both parties to change? Could that be why so many Republicans lost their primary challenges to Tea Party candidates?

That's the real "choice" for the next election. Billionaires or us.

Which is why I refuse to support either party.

Obama needs to put his policies "out in the open" and show the American people what Republicans are up to. Look at the unpopular "Ryan Plan" (now the Republican Plan). We need to get more of that "exposed".

Shouldn't he get some policies first?

Nice to see unbiased reporting.

Which of those government programs do you oppose cutting?

We really could use a bit of "humble pie" on both sides. You are absolutely correct though, that there needs to be some compromises. The problem is neither side wants to budge on anything, and to this point, the Dems can't even seem to put together some kind of plan to address these problems. Truthfully, I don't care so much about the short term problems, because it's the long term issues that are going to really cause major problems down the road. If we address those, then we can figure out what to do in the short term.

Wasn't it cons who wanted to let the banks and auto manufacturers go bust?

Maybe Barry should ask the 23 or so Dem Senators whose seats are up for grabs in the 2012 election what he should do?

LMAO Good one.

The only reason he's talking to Boener is because the Dems got there asses kicked in 2010.

Have no fear. If they hadn't the Reps would still be sitting in the back of that bus. You know the one thats still stuck in the ditch.
