The number of EO's is really meaningless, Nat. What's important isn't the amount of EO...it's what they were used for. EO are supposed to be used for doing small, day to day tasks when Congress isn't in session...they aren't there to cut the Congress out of the equation. A "Constitutional Scholar" like Barack Obama knows that but he doesn't care.

Actually a good question for which I DO blame Obama for not acting sooner. The only possible excuse (and its not my place to excuse anything since I have many disagreements with Obama) is this:

The first Obama term had the economy to address and, to avoid a total depression, he knew that to piss off republicans whose support he needed for economic steps to be taken, would have collapsed if he took on immigration.

Then Republican gridlock took over and Obama could get nothing done for four long years

Since then, Obama issued immigration reform, recognized Cuba, made an environmental pact with China, defended Obamacare, won on same sex marriage and got the Iran nuclear pact
