Seriously, there are plenty of REAL issues to talk about. Who the fuck cares if the President and his family go on vacation for Christmas?

They may rent it with their own money (from whatever source), but they and their enteroge fly over there on Air Force One and other government owned planes ... and we pick up the tab for that. We pick up the tab for Secret Service salaries, housing, food, etc. because they are not in the bedroom next to the Messiah and I doubt they are eating at the same table with them. God knows what else we have to pay for.

One of our greatest Presidents, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, was also one of our wealthiest. He was elected as President in the depth of our greatest Depression. And yet, Rooseelt owned his own getaway in Hyde Park NY and had a secondary retreat in Warm Springs GA. Even FDR understood the need to get away....so did the country

Yes they have--but most Presidents keep their vacations very "low key" during economic crisis--especially at 10+% unemployment. G.W. spent lots of time at his ranch in Texas during the holidays & I am certain no one would be saying anything if the Obama family planned on heading home to Chicago for theirs.
