Obama leaves campaign to be with ailing grandmother

On a purely political note has Obama given the McCain campaign an opening for a discussion of Rev. Wright since Obama invoked his Grandma in his "race speech"?

McCain will not bring up the Rev. Wright association. He has declared it off limits. He does not seem to mind dragging Obama's political associations into light -- aka Ayers -- because this reflects how Obama feels about America.

He will not bring up Wright because that reflects firstly how Obama feels about God, and that is no one's business but Obama's.

Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

They need an opening to smear Obama? Since when?

But you're even lower than I thought.

Good for you. You're a good little paid operative. ;)

Now sit ubu, sit.

Why is it a smear to discuss Wright?

Life Lesson: What someone accuses you of doing is exactly what they are doing to you or others.

<<<I rather doubt that.>>>>

OK.

<<<See? I was right.>>>

Sure you were! *Sarcasm spills all over the floor*

<<<Sounds about right to me. So did my mother.>>>

So, she was a racist and you don't mind blasting it to the world?

Obviously?

To whom?[/QUOTE]

Although I disagree with the idea wholeheartedly, I am willing to accept that some people have become so cynical about the candidates that they would wonder about a person's "motives" for going to be with their grandmother while she's ill...

But I can't believe that you would be silly enough to think that McCain would win anything but widespread scorn and well-deserved derision if he used a sick woman to attempt to bring up Obama's relationship with Rev. Wright again. That would be political suicide for the McCain/Palin ticket.

My guess is Wright is getting back in the discussion one way or the other and it has everything to do with Obama's judgement and honesty.

Does anyone in America think Obama wasn't aware of Wright's anti-American views after Obama attended his Church twice a month for 20 years?

If Obma wasn't aware of Wright's views that is even scarier.

Why would he have to? He has McCain spending a fortune right now trying to defend states that went to Bush in 2000 and 2004.

I didn't say he neededto. It just wouldn't surprise me because Obama will do anything to win, including using his grandmother as a political tool. I only say this because he's used her before.

No one cares.

The Grandma won't be mentioned. How Wright will enter the discussion is above my pay grade but I can't see how the McCain campaign can avoid bringing Wright back into the discussion.

The public already has spoken about the Ayers thing and the guilt by association is stupid, reflects bady on McCain and hurt him, rather than helped him in the polls and cost him endorsements... same as when Hillary went too far.

And psssst... What Ayers did has zero meaning in terms of Obama's views.

As for not calling up the ghost of rev wright, you might want to have a chat with McCain's campaign director who said yesterday, it's back on the table...

desperation has an ugly stench...

"His suspension of his campaign is indicative of his strong affection and love for his grandmother," said state Sen. Clayton Hee, D-23rd, (Kaneohe, Kahuku), an early Obama supporter."

P.S. I think there's more to this trip then meets the eye...

umm she was referring to McCain's suspension. Obama himself will be off the campaign trail, that doesn't mean that his campaign will stop.

what do you think there is to this trip? do tell :cuckoo:

Oh I know...maybe he's gonna go get that original birth certificate :eusa_whistle:

The public has spoken? Gee, I know the media has spoken for us, but contrary to what Chris Matthews and the gang have to say, many voters DO care about Obama's past political associations.

Why? Because what Ayers did has clear and legitmate meaning in terms of it's reflection on Obama. Go ahead and think otherwise, though. I want you to. The more you libs look the other way on this, the better off we "Joe the Plumber" Americans are.

how does what Ayers did 40 years ago reflect on Obama? I'm waiting for someone to explain that to me. and if it reflects poorly on him for associating with him after the fact does it also reflect poorly on all the Republicans who ALSO associated with him?

Obama didn't sit on that board alone with Ayers ya know.

and I think the polls would indicate that the majority of Americans don't give a crap about Ayers OR wright.

I smell bullshit. Hussein doesn't give a flying fuck about his family. Look at his brother starving to death in Africa.

Then again his brother isn't wealthy or connected. His grandmother must be loaded. If she was as poor as his brother he'd kick her to the curb too.

You know, I'd prove the stupid BS you just said wrong about his brother, but your so fucking ignorant to the facts that it doesn't matter what the truth is. I also love how you call him Hussein, thank you for showing that your a RACIST ASSHOLE like a great deal of the Republican base is proving

  • Only Obama has lied about his alliance with Ayers.
  • Only Obama is running for President.
  • Only Obama was in charge of dispensing over 100 million dollars to far left educational programs all of which failed including a program run by Ayers and another run by Wright.
  • Only Obama announced his run for his first political in Ayer's office living room.
  • Only Obama publicly praised Ayer's book.

How does what Ayers did 40 years ago reflect on Obama today? Because Ayers still holds many of the views he held then -- which is why he is often described as an UNREPENTANT terrorist. Ayers hated America then and still does now. Ayers is working today to undermine American capitalism via the educational system. (It's widely known that he went to Venezuala and praised highly the socialist educational system, openly critizing America's own capitalist educational system in the process.) Of course Obama and Ayers weren't alone on that board, but no one else on that board is running for president. Also, if that board were Obama's only association with Ayers, I *might* be willing to let it slide. But it's not and so I won't excuse it.

As for polls. HA! Give me a break! Even when polls are in favor of my candidates and issues, I don't take them seriously. If you don't realize by now that polls are used largely to shape rather than track public opinion, there is no hope for you.

his brother isnt starving. do you really need to resort to lies to try and make obama look bad?

otter creek you insensitive jack ass...even someone in mccains campaign said they respected Obama for taking time off to be with her at this time and that they were in everyones prayers....would you want someone questioning you motives if someone in your family that you cared about was very ill or dying and you had to take time off work? put partisan bullshit aside for this ok dumbfuck!
