Me either. It is not even a criminal offense, and Obama is far from the first president to ignore a court order he did not like. I don't recall anyone else ever being impeached for it.

Either you should have paid more attention in your civics and history classes or your parents should get a refund on their taxes. Andrew Jackson ignored an order of the Supreme Court when he forced the Cherokees to move west of the Mississippi.

Not exactly. The press asked Press Secretary Gibbs and Obama a ton of questions about the fact that he ignored that court order. Therefore Salazar cant act as a stooge and take the fall of the O man as Obama claims that he knew nothing. Obama cant claim ignorance on an high profile event that he claimed to be so on top of. Gerald Ford famously once said that high crimes and misdemeanors is whatever the House determines it to be. I'm paraphrasing here but the idea is that if the House decides to draft the articles, it becomes an impeachable offence.

I'd point out though, that simply ignoring the Court's rulings is one of the few checks the Executive has on the Judicial. If Congress thinks the Executive has gone too far in disregarding the Judicial, then their check on the Executive is impeachment.

EDIT: For the record I think the OP's push for an Obama impeachment is just as sad as the Left's push for Articles of Impeachment for Bush. It's probably sadder than the folks that pushed for and actually did impeach Slick Willie.

But yeah, that particular incident is always the first one I go to when it comes to the Executive versus the Judicial. The ability to ignore a ruling is a check on the Judicial. If the two come to deadlock as seperate and equal branches of government, then it comes down to the Legislative to decide whether to weild their powers of impeachment against either the Judicial or the Executive.

That's why you always have 3 in order to get balance. Any two are equal, meaning the 3rd has to weigh in to break deadlock.
