Now I have to wonder why THIS interview was buried and hidden from the American people since this is exactly the kind of thing people need to know in order to make an informed decision.
In January 2008, Obama was interviewed by the San Francisco Chronicle.

During this interview he explains how his environmental policies will be the most stringent in the world, how his policies will force coal plants into bankruptcy and how this will naturally cause the cost of electricity to consumers to SKYROCKET. Which in turn he thinks would enrich government by BILLIONS. This tells you two things. The first is that his greatest concern is with enriching government and his crap about being "for" the middle class is a meaningless sound bite since these policies will result in throwing these very same people into poverty. The second is he is seriously delusional to believe a government can enrich itself by destroying an industry and causing serious repercussions throughout the entire economy when these policies can only result in massive unemployment and higher prices. Government's money comes from taxpayers -and only those with a job can pay income tax. Which makes it IMPOSSIBLE for any government to get richer by having far more of its citizens out of work. (And just think, this isn't even discussing his intention to also return to the disastrous and totally failed protectionist trade policies of Herbert Hoover that brought on the Great Depression. We will get there with this alone -we don't even need those!) Can we all say "ONE TERM PRESIDENT"? And once again, like Carter - it will take three times as long to fix his damage as he took causing it.
You really don't need to have taken a single economics class to understand this will negatively affect EVERY industry and all businesses will only be able to afford those skyrocketing electricity costs by laying off millions and raising their prices.
Not the first time Obama has said he wants to eliminate coal as a source of energy in the US (although we have more coal than Saudi Arabia has oil) -and Biden let this slip out as well during one of his "grip-and-greets" at a rope line when he said there wouldn't even be any use of clean coal technology allowed in this country in an Obama administration. Yet these are the very same men stumping all over Pennsylvania and Virginia RIGHT NOW claiming THEY support coal workers! How? By plotting how they are going to destroy an entire INDUSTRY and their source of income entirely? Just remember how much fun you Obama whackos had paying high gas prices FOR A FEW MONTHS and how "patriotic" you felt doing it? It will be great to see those electric bills skyrocket for way longer, won't it? And how much is "skyrocket" anyway? Double? Triple? Don't know about you, but I can't afford to pay that on a regular basis. Many people couldn't afford paying it even once much less month after month.
How do you feel about returning to the 19th century and relying on kerosene lamps after your electric bill skyrockets and you can't afford to use any electricity but a couple of hours a day? Willing to give up your air conditioning? Maybe then we can be more like France and see 15,000 people baked alive in their own homes during a heat wave. What fun for us all to see us go from having 80% of the entire population with air conditioning to just 30% again, huh? At least your weekends will feel much, much longer trying to juggle and ration out the limited time you think you can afford to turn on your computer or a TV - along with your washer and dryer and air conditioning, huh? Screw that automatic dishwasher and get used to doing them by hand.
Think your employer will be able to afford those skyrocketing electric bills when it will drive his overhead costs through the roof -or is it likely the only way he can is by laying off MORE people? That the kind of change you were looking for with this guy? ROFL
Oh but he SAYS he is all "for" the middle class and working class people and those empty words are actually what counts the most, right? He PROMISED to only hurt those nasty, bad rich people and give that money to everyone else who didn't earn it, right? We can trust him to keep his word, just like he did to McCain over public campaign financing - and his far more detailed explanation of his real plans that spells out the kind of hurt he is planning for us all - can't possibly be true. Just another vast rightwing conspiracy. We'll just give those nasty rich people our electric bills too! That free lunch for the other 289 million will be paid for by those 15.25 million nasty rich people and will just go on FOREVER, right? ROFLMAO!
No doubt Obama will use soaring rhetoric about how deeply he "feels" our pain after he shoves our economy into a deep depression with double digit unemployment, while glossing over the FACT he knew all along it would be working class and middle class people who were going to end up far worse off financially when he was done with them -with high odds they would be unemployed and even if they weren't unemployed, still unable to afford any but the barest consumption of electricity -which means a huge step down in the standard of living for hundreds of millions. ROFL Apparently Obama's real "vision" is how best to spread the poverty around -because it is the only thing that will grow with his policies.
