President Obama's budget kicks the hard choices further down the road
Tuesday, February 15, 2011; 12:00 AM

THE PRESIDENT PUNTED. Having been given the chance, the cover and the push by the fiscal commission he created to take bold steps to raise revenue and curb entitlement spending, President Obama, in his fiscal 2012 budget proposal, chose instead to duck. To duck, and to mask some of the ducking with the sort of budgetary gimmicks he once derided

The Obama Budget
Published: February 14, 2011

What Mr. Obama’s budget is most definitely not is a blueprint for dealing with the real long-term problems that feed the budget deficit: rising health care costs, an aging population and a refusal by lawmakers to face the inescapable need to raise taxes at some point. Rather, it defers those critical issues, in hopes, we assume, that both the economy and the political environment will improve in the future.

CBO director on Obama budget framework: "We don't estimate speeches"

Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., asked Elmendorf whether the CBO had attempted to estimate the budgetary effects of the framework Obama outlined in April, which was based on a 12-year budget window instead of the usual 10 years.

“We don’t estimate speeches," Elmendorf shot back. "We need much more specificity then was provided in that speech for us to do our analysis."

The Republicans should first make him admit he's a failed leader

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. ... It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our government's reckless fiscal policies." -- Barack Hussein Obama, Community Organizer and low-level socialist agitator

It's good to be King. This guy is the last guy who should be preaching to anyone about hard work. How many Vacations is he up to now? He's taken far more Vacations than the average American could. It's good to be King for sure.

If you think Obama hastaken more vacation time off than W, congrats, you are officially a MORON LOL

I have no idea how many vacations Bush took compared to Obama. I do, however, know for a fact that Obama has done more rounds of golf in 2 years than Bush did in 8. In fact, he played more golf in 1 year than Bush did in 8.
