Obama hits Americans when they're down

Which has been dropping for every president since the late 70's.

So why do the libs act like Obama has done something great concerning oil production. We have just proved that his claim is bullshit. Yet TM and his ilk want us to pat Obama on the ass for increasing production. He hasn't done anything to increase production. It's just another one of his pre-election lies.

Liberalism is a mental disorder!

I don't think so. Simply countering the claims that he has put a halt to crude oil production in this country and because of that we are seeing the rise in prices. It's another rightie talking point that doesn't hold up under scrutiny.
You miss the point. Obama's claiming credit for increased oil production is a lie.

You should really work on developing complete sentences.

When you include the tax breaks for the oil companies, the environment damage done by fossil fuels, and the trillions we spend in the Middle East protecting the oil supply with our military, the real cost of a gallon of gas is probably closer to $15.

If we switched to alternative energy and conservation, we wouldn't have all these additional costs.

We'd have more costs right now. Wind and solar aren't concentrated. It may be possible in thirty, forty, fifty years but not right now. The technology is not there. Currently, wind and solar are supplemental. I'd like to use solar and geothermal coils on my next house to supplement or reduce the costs of electricity. I'll have to do an analysis to see if that's feasible.

Natual gas is where we need to be looking.

That's what I do.

You're the one missing the point. Countering the claims of Obama's anti-oil policies , which do not exist.

Complete what?

One offshore lease for all of 2011? Worst number since 1953. These are policy decisions, which are failures and helping to drive up prices of oil. Why does Obama want to hurt the middle class?

And how long does it take from the time a lease is sold to the time oil is pumping out of the hole?:eusa_whistle:

A long time, this is crippling to our energy future. Thanks Mr. President for the bad policy decisions.

A long time is right. Sometime not at all. Most of the oil in this country is on private land. The government doesn't sell leases for private land.

Then there is this:

Also Thursday, Mr. Obama announced the final lease sale of offshore acreage in the central Gulf of Mexico, scheduled for late June, with conditions meant to make sure that oil companies develop the leases they acquire, officials said. The lease sale of some 38 million acres will be the last one of the current five-year plan for development of offshore resources. The agreement will include a sliding scale of rental rates to compensate deep-water lessees for delays in beginning operations in the wake of the 2010 BP PLC Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

40% less output in oil production on federal lands....

Only stupid idiots like you think pollution and hurricanes are good things

A lease is only the first step. Then there are the various drilling permits.

Which makes obama (small o intentional) very clever depending on the ignormance of the average american (small a intentional). He mandates that the leases must be used, denies the permits, declares the lease unused and revokes it because of such inactivity.

Now he can go before the public with his most beleagured face, what can he do? He gets no cooperation. Here he gave out the leases but the oil companies just would NOT develop them. He works so hard, and is so unappreciated.

Do I file this under deflection or acknowledgment Obama has a part in the problem?

Oil production on Federal lands dropped by over 20% from 2009 to 2010. I'm still looking for the figures for 2011...

They let a key gas tax cut expire on January 1, 2012.

Oil prices fell from $147 to $35 on the day Bush opened up the OCS for drilling.
