I am not a big fan of Vegas. I was last there in 1996. I don't like gambling, and I hate the casinos.

But a lot of people do. And it is inappropriate for Obama to talk down a portion of the economy.

Here is Steve Wynn, CEO of Wynn Resorts, a casino operator in Las Vegas.

The President of the United States hasn’t missed one single opportunity to squelch Las Vegas. In our particular case, it’s cost us millions of dollars from companies affected by the President’s remarks that have no connection whatsoever to federal bailouts. But we get phone calls, and I’m not going to mention the names of the companies, from chairman who say we don’t want to appear to be profligate because Barack Obama said this or that about Las Vegas. But it’s had an effect on us. The hospitality industry in the United States of America as a whole has suffered disproportionately during this recession.

Bullshit.

Corporate events have been down for at least three years if not longer. LV's problems are not the fault of Obama.

Obama has to Learn to STFU
He has a whole helluva lot to learn.

In fact, I cannot think of one single thing in his extremely thin resume which recommends him as any kind of expert on economics, medical care, the environment, military affairs, or virtually any other concern of a chief executive of anything.

Little wad, you have just described yourself, so be quiet, please, and give us all a break.

You're a marvel, Jake, I mean for a genuine "Republican"

This reminds me of the time President George H. W. Bush said he didn't like broccoli. Before that, children used to eat it like candy.

So because things have been bad economically for a few years now, it was ok for the sitting President of the United States to single-out and attack a city in this country that has thousands and thousands of its citizens dependent on tourism in order to stay afloat?

Come on, Ravi. I understand that Obama is not fully responsible for the economic hardship Las Vegas is currently facing, but even you have to admit...for a President to come out and say to Americans - hey...DON'T go spend money there right now...its really irresponsible to go there - is unfair and could potentially further damage their struggling economy.

Obama may be trying to dissuade Americans from frivolous spending...but it shows lack of thinking or caring on his part when he doesn't take into consideration that enormous number of people who work in the tourism and entertainment industries and the phenomenal amount of money those industries pump into the economy. When he goes on tv and bad mouths Vegas...it shouldn't come as a surprise that the hard-working men and women who are trying to make their living there get a bit miffed.

No doubt Vegas started to tank before Obama became President, but I'll take Wynn at his word that board chairmen are telling him that they are staying away because of the political environment. Wynn has a reputation as being outspoken. I see no reason to disbelieve him.

? "The hospitality industry in the United States of America as a whole has suffered disproportionately during this recession.? Prove that statement. If the industry suffers because corporations finally are wary because of stockholders and taxpayers' increasing awareness, good.

Obama is a naive stupid idiot.

What Wynn said. Also, unlike Obama, Wynn has actually accomplished something.
