Obama has 'blood on his hands' for stealing from Medicare

oh yeah.....the new and improved HMOs......the start line for rationing....

remember how everybody just LOVED the HMOs.....?

Despite bending the cost curve in the '90s, HMOs weren't accountable for quality. The new delivery models (which focus on health care providers, not HMOs) are. Indeed, these providers' reimbursement isn't just linked to health outcomes, it's linked to patient experience survey measures. And the early results from the flagship models are promising.

Looks like we don't need to boot grandma off of Medicare, sorry to spoil the fantasy.

The Pinocchio Test

Romney’s statement (and, to some extent, Boehner’s recent remark) fall in the category of technically correct but misleading. It’s rather rich for Republicans to complain about $500 billion in supposed cuts to Medicare that they themselves would retain, even under the cover of helping Medicare.

Bachmann’s statement is further off the mark because of her assertion that seniors would suffer at the hands of the youth. The Medicare savings in the health care law are aimed at providers, not seniors; meanwhile seniors stand to benefit from aspects of the health care law that Republicans want to repeal. On top of that, people younger than 55 might face significantly higher premiums under the GOP plan for Medicare. We’re giving her two Pinocchios.

from your link...what a crock...
The savings actually are wrung from health-care providers, not Medicare beneficiaries.

it will 'wring' the providers....but which in turn 'wrings' the seniors...

this means the doctors will stop accepting Medicare patients because they don't get reimbursed enough and the Advantage program will get less so benefits will be cut by $3700 by 2017....if that isn't "wringing" the seniors i don't know what is....

you're the one in fantasyland....

for example....under Medicare today grandma can choose her own doctor....or go to any doctor she chooses.....with that new model she is stuck with the doctors provided within the group....

As noted this morning, the first time this was posted: These attacks will be pretty easy to fend off. Whenever a rightwinger brings them up, the Obama camp simply has to ask seniors if they've been happy over the past few years experiencing the smallest increases in the Part B premium in Medicare's history. They need to ask if they've enjoyed paying less for their Medicare prescription drugs. They need to ask if they've taken advantage of the new Medicare benefits, like annual wellness visits.

The Republicans' attacks were easier in 2010, six months after health reform passed. Their lies that seniors were about to lose something could still seem plausible at that point.

But now seniors have gone through two (soon to be three) enrollment periods since health reform passed and they haven't lost anything, they've gained benefits, all while enjoying the fruits of historically low cost growth (e.g. in the form slowing premium growth). Reince is going to need to brush up on his Jedi mind tricks if he wants to somehow convince seniors they've lost something with respect to Medicare over the past 3 years. He's not up against the word of the Obama camp this time, he's up against the lived experience of America's seniors.

ooo ooo FACTS.

As much as the left loves facts is as much as rw's refuse to even consider them.

Thanks for trying though.

ACOs don't restrict Medicare beneficiary freedom of choice of providers.

Any more bullshit you want to make up on the spot?

wake up.....seniors WILL be losing.....but of course not before the election.....

i heard a senior on a radio show today that said his premium for Medicare started a couple years ago at about $90.....but is scheduled to increase to about $225 by 2014....that's almost 300% increase....!

on top of that Obama has stolen well over half a TRILLION bucks from Medicare....which means Medicare won't be reimbursing the doctors as much for various procedures.....and that means many doctors will stop accepting Medicare patients and that means seniors will be waiting in long lines for rationed care by the few left....

....forget the Obamalama talk......Obama is just fooling the seniors......he really does not care about them.....he more interested in busting the current system in order to establish socialized medicine...

Wow

You really need to shut off lushbo and his minions and learn for yourself.

I've had Medicare for more than 2 years now and have seen nothing of the kind.

And, as usual, you're confusing President Obama with thieves like Ryan and Boehner, among others.

OTOH, if you have PROOF ... by all means, post it.

Right is your short term happiness more important then the health of the nation.

With few years left to live you expected what?

The greed of democrats will never be surpassed by any other group.

You are right about one thing. it is the policy of the RIGHT WING that wants the health of our country to NOT get better. you have got to be one of the worst most uninformed people I have ever come across. The greed of the insurence companies is unparalled. Explain how ANY healthcare proposed by a republican will give people, RIGHTS protected by law, as in:pre existing conditions, kids covered till 26, preventitive health care covered. the list goes on to cover seniors/working poor, minorities, see YOU are the one who wants people to suffer, I want there to be a strong and healthy social saftynet program. so back to my question to you, explain ANY health care reform presented by the republicans in the past decade that helps people.

I was forced to pay for medicare with the promise that it would be there when I retired. I paid and congress stole the money to help pay back lobbyist. Now the POTUS wants to reduce my benefit. I don't see him reducing any of the gravy he gets. I truly love the lack of representation I get from the POTUS and his migons.

that is the one difference between ACOs and HMOs.....you can move if you want to....

my question is "where do you go".....?

of course if you live in a big city you can probably find a new ACO to join but if you are in the suburbs or rural areas your choices will become limited...

....and i certainly wouldn't put it past them to put limits on your freedom to change at some point in the future....

It's time for the Democrats to stop being part of the problem and start being part of the solution. Work within Congress, not fighting with those on the other side of the aisle and not allowing bills to come to the Senate floor.

that's what the senior said....:dunno:

you appear to be right about the PartB payment....at least according to snopes....

Fucking comical.

Who was it that just cut the deals with big pharma and insurance. Democrats just gave them a huge windfall at the expense of the treasury.

You havent an economic clue.........

A more appropriate question to ask seniors is this.

Knowing that Obama has taken a half-trillion dollars from the pot that you paid into for healthcare for no one, what will you say to your grandchildren when you tell them that you are unwilling to put a few extra dollars into the the system now, to ensure that the system will be there for them?

if over half a trillion cut doesn't wake people up.....just wait until Obama's Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) kicks in.....:eusa_whistle:

If Medicare cost growth remains as low as it's been lately, the IPAB will never kick in.

Isn't there about a $300 billion shortage in Medicare each year.....with 10,000 more seniors coming into the program EACH DAY.....?

...it'll kick in....count on it.....unless we get rid of obamacare....and adopt Ryan's plan....

Enrollment growth is irrelevant. The IPAB is only tasked with making recommendations when the per capita growth rate of Medicare exceeds the target.

Per enrollee spending growth in Medicare has slowed to the point that the IPAB may not be asked to do anything at all (this, incidentally, is also why Ryan's Wreck Medicare plan is unnecessary--his per enrolle spending targets are now being met).
