The biggest thing that pisses me off about this recession is that we are still listening to and calling them experts, those who bigtime helped create the mess and could not see it coming.

Yes and many others including the ratings agencies that rated the junk packages as low risk.

I think tarp could have been done in such a way that the US MADE money off of it to pay for the rest of the mess fixing.

The Bush guy Paulson gave a freebee to the asholes who made the mess.

Earth to truthmatters...the TARP is being repaid as we speak and the government has made a profit!!

Small correction: The banks that have basically remained private institutions are repaying their borrowings. Fannie and Freddie, GM and Chrysler, which are wholly owned subsidiaries of the unions and the gov't, have not repaid their borrowings. Nor can they. Obama's administration just announced that they were removing any limit on support for Fannie/Freddie precisely so they could modify their mortgages and generate even more loss.
