I disagree with the Administrations decision to continue the policy set down by his predecessors. But then I'm all for nationalizing our oil fields and having the oil companies pay us citizens royalties on every drop ([you-betcha] just like them socialist\marxist\redistributors up in Alaska do).

I think his decision to offer to open up these lands for exploration to appease the Republicans was a mistake in the first place.

Around 20 thousand employed here is the US. No telling how many are actually American. Jobs yea, but not that many and the real money goes overseas.

Isn't it funny, Republicans gleefully dance and hope that American Car companies employing at least a hundred and fifty thousand people would "go under". Those car companies lead to possibly millions of other jobs. All of them would have also disappeared.

But Republicans will crawl and beg forgiveness to a company such as BP who, if the practice wasn't stopped by Obama, was probably still getting the same subsidies they got under Bush. In fact, I bet the leases Bush sold them were offset by the subsidies, I wouldn't be surprised if we paid them to take our oil. Republicans love oil companies that much and hate this country that much.

I'm still waiting for a single positive thing they have done for this country in the last 20 years. Giving money to millionaires doesn't count.

You do realize that the oil is going to be drilled there anyway. All Obama has ensured is that Americans arent the ones working on those platforms.

Any executive order the President makes applies to only the United States. You see, the United States Federal government has no power to tell any other nation what they can or can't do. So the other nations of the world who have money will be drilling for the oil instead of us. Likely hiring their own people to do that jobs.

All Obama has done is ensure:

1) American jobs are lost
2) The price of gasoline goes up thanks to mindless speculators.
3) Other nations get rich using the resources we could have easily used.
4) Any drilling that does go on will happen without oversight of our government. Do you honestly think China will care if it spills oil in the gulf? it's no skin off their backs. We are the ones who get screwed by it.

Why do you care? Right wingers aren't going to build nuclear power plants. That takes scientists and engineers. Right winger's believe people were magically shimmered into being.
