Sounds like all the nayslayers are eating crow as people flock to stores for the Christmas event. IF we are so bad off you wouldn't see this type of spending behavior. So sit down you rightwinged Loons and STFU!!!

A strong Christmas Eve would round out a surprisingly successful holiday season for retailers. The National Retail Federation predicts that holiday sales will reach $451.5 billion this year, up 3.3 percent over last year. That would be the biggest year-over-year increase since 2006, and the largest total since sales hit a record $452.8 billion in 2007. A strong finish could even give 2010 the crown.

Just like a delusional lefty loon to credit Obama with profits from corporations from individual consumers, he likes to over regulate, and who's stimulus didn't help.

Desperate desperation is obvious.

Compared to Bush years, Obama is flying!!!

True to form, sales levels increased a significant 8.8 percent (traffic -1.0 percent) during the week ending Dec. 26 as procrastinating and value-driven shoppers took full advantage of four full shopping says before Christmas to secure those last items on their lists. Leading the way, Dec. 26 – traditionally around the third best performing day of the season – vaulted to the number two position with $7.9 billion spent, opposed to $7.8 billion last year.

1.7% is not an increase to crow about after a few years of being in the doldroms. Population growth alone accounts for 1/3 of the increase.

At this point after a severe recession, the economy should be growing at a minimum rate of 5%. It is growing at half that rate.

Obamanomics = EPIC FAIL.

25% Real Unemployment in Michigan! Nevada is even higher!

People spend now because they're sick of saving every last penny all year. They want to feel good ONCE this year.

There are NO JOBS thanks to Obama and this Congress

Why of course he is, and the people are convinced the economy is in recovery from the Bush disaster. I know that will have the rightwing crying, but hey, the American people have spoken with their wallets...........

Yet, we avoided a depression, thanks to President Obama.

when employment starts growing at a sustained rate of over 135K I am on board, in that it means we have started a recovery. 135K is roughly give or take 10K the break even point for new entrants due to pop. growth, anything under that is a net loss.

That being said we are years away from anywhere near 6-7%.

Lefties are some strange little people.

They don't call it OUR ECONEMY, no, it's the Obama's economy.

so I guess that pesky 10% UNEMPLOYMENT is the Obama's also, oh and lets not forget that TRILLION DOLLAR dept we have right now, that is the superhero Obama's too..

my gawd, the hero worshipping is disgusting.:cuckoo:

If we were in a real recovery, real job growth would be 250K-300K per month.
