He leads all potential GOP rivals.

In hypothetical matchups for the general election, the president runs ahead of all seven potential GOP rivals tested in the new poll.

If the election were held now, Romney and Huckabee would mount the stiffest challenges, trailing Obama by four and six percentage points respectively, among all Americans as well as among registered voters.

Well, that's ok then. Cuz we all know it's not about electing the best person to run the fucking country. It's about 'winning'.

Fucking politicians are a bunch of lying shits... and those who goose step along behind them... scum.

I agree. I supported Meg in the race for Governor. They sent Jerry back. I thought the first time was bad. Go figure.

I love polls.

This one is really interesting. In a country that is roughly 34/35/31 Republican/Democratic/Independent they poll a sample that is 32/22/41 and find that Obama leads by less than about 5%. Somehow you see this as proof that the Republicans don't have a chance, while everyone with half a brain sees it as a sign that Obama is in serious trouble.

Welcome to the real world.

You are the one failing to understand what it means. As you rightly point out the largest section polled was independents. Assume all Democrats vote for Obama and all republicans Vote against him, and all that matters is the Independents.

Among those independents Obama's Numbers are not looking good at all.

Keeping in mind that it will not be his fault. It will either be the fault of Bush or the Republicans. The sad fact is that he is able to convince the drones that this is a fact.

It is a "Sad Fact". And it is the reality.

The fantasy is that the Conservative Republican Heroes that proceeded the Obama administration had nothing to do with the present situation.

And the fact is they had everything to do with it.

The Grover Norquist (Starve the beast)/Milton Friedman (Freemarketeering!) meme has failed yet again..and more miserably then last time.

If you are referring to the massive housing market fail - the one where foreclosures are meted out so as not to devastate completely the world economy - for example, there was little free about that market.

Everything ABOUT it was "Free Market". It started with deregulation of the banking industry, continued on with the deregulation of the financial industry and was helped along with the defunding of SEC.

Do you live in the same universe as rdean, or does this board actually cover more than two alternate realities?

The fact is that BOTH parties are equally responsible for the current situation. From 07 to 11 dems controlled the money....that is an irrefutable fact. I simply chose to point out the mantra of Obama since elected. Bush grew the govt in a big way but to not identify the fact that Obama is right there with him is to be blinded by partisan politics. The inability to lay blame elsewhere is a character flaw that has everything to do with staying in power and nothing to do with putting country first...both parties included.

Ridiculous. Presidents write the budget..and up until pretty recently they get what they want.

I would have probably agreed with some of this had you pointed out that Clinton allowed Glass-Steagall to be repealed. He did that as part of a package and it was a big mistake.

I didn't realise Clinton was a "Conservative Republican Hero."

You seem to have a very selective memory.

So since I left out Clinton while stating BOTH parties are responsibile, you disagree...too funny.
OK, so what happened to the 2010 budget? President may "write" the budget (which they don't lift a pen actually) but the House and Senate have to pass it. When you can admit to yourself that both parties have chosen the wrong path in many years, you will free yourself of petty, useless partisan politics. If not, you are simply being blinded by partisanship.

The laissez-faire regulation of the derivative market was a result of Clinton and Bush Administrations' policies.

Dems saw that the market would implode, and made Obama the sacrificial goat.
