This is a symbolic gesture designed to simultaneously please the anti-immigrant contingent, but can be downplayed as part of the effort to stem the border drug war. Very clever.

yeah...and by concentrating on the 'Drug War'...it takes away the stigma to the other part of the equation, and that is those that come here and soak up money that doesn't belong to them, become a burden on our economy...and just for the mere fact that they are living here outside the law.

The point is, is that Obama is now parsing the issue. Deflecting. he wants 'Amnesty'. it's a very poor move on his part. Most folks understand what's going on, and any amnesty legislation is going to be political poison no matter what he does in an apparent move of appeasement.

He had better tread carefully. Most of us aren't so damned easily fooled.

Barry Boy is doing just what Bush did. AZ exacerbated the border problem so he's sending down 1,200 NG troops. Bush did the same. The Guard will stay for a while then go home. This way he can look like he's doing something. What are the SOP's for the NG?? Who knows.

If Barry really wanted to address the border he would instruct his AG to go after those employing the illegals.

Barry would also demand Homeland Security finish the damned fence.

Well, you can't say Owe Bama didn't do something about securing the border. What he did was absolutely not worth a damn but neither has anything any of the other Presidents have done has been worth a damn either. I am a guy who is not afraid to have an opinion, but this article and subject leave me a speechless observer. Living in Southern California we are quite aware that Latinum were here 75 years before the Declaration of Independence. For years Mexicans traveled in and out of the United States freely, the border was seen as just a line on a map. Everyone along the border knows that tensions run deep. The Arizona Immigration Law is forcing circumstance to come to a head.

We all know that something needs to be done. Now, it looks and feels like more violence, especially drug related, may be coming.
