One month later, he finally takes control of the spill.....or does he?

A month after oil spill began, Obama begins taking charge - Yahoo! News

With BP removed from the newly assigned task force, they can say whatever they want about what's happening at the site. They can use this engineering professor's "best guess" scenario to up the ante on actual size of the spill...seems you'd want an expert for that.

My biggest question is why haven't they moved on this sooner? If they have all the people they need without BP's representation, why didn't they do this sooner? What do they plan to accomplish?

And why aren't we hearing the blame game from the libs about the month long delay to take action?

I can envision a scenario such as this, use the oil spill as an opportunity to push the green agenda, the worse the spill the greater the opportunity. The brainwashing of the Democrats into believing that the Obama Administration is not culpable is a given..

And isn't it interesting that the Enviro Whackos are WISHING for the catastrophe that hasn't happened yet?

Raising liability limits across the board will go a long way toward killing the domestic petroleum industry. It will include both major and independent oil companies.

All Obama has done so far is use the blame game. He's mainly concerned with bad-mouthing Arizona right now. Oil spills are not a priority. He can't figure out whom to suck up to on this one.

To date he has done nothing but cast blame on BP. He's said that he has no intention of doing anything....and really all he can do is get in the way anyway....because this is a serious problem that he can't fake knowing what to do.

interesting that there's been NO lib response here. I guess it's hard to argue with the truth.

I think quietly he's rather enjoying the spill... it fits his agenda pefectly. IT certainly explains his out to lunch handling of it.. if this had been Bush, the libs would be calling for his head.

The Boy King's agenda right now is to get as many illegals on the voter rosters as possible...

Obama is too busy dumping on Arizona to care about an oil spill.

Speaking of AZ and Illegals, I am sure everyone realizes, if the Oil had been creeping into the waters of the Rio Grande, BO when have been all over the Oil Spill to protect his new-found buddies to the South.

BTW, has BO ever done anything to help the victims in Nashville?

Of course you could actually check it out. Naw, you prefer to be a partisan asshole.

U.S. promises aid for Tennessee flood victims: Scientific American

NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 10 (Reuters) - A week after storms sent rivers and creeks sloshing into homes, hotels and honky-tonk bars, Nashville officials estimated the damage at $1.4 billion and received a promise of federal aid on Monday.

"We will continue to return to make sure you have all the assistance you need," said Shaun Donovan, secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, following a tour of flood-stricken areas in the sprawling city of 626,000 that is the capital of the country music industry .

Some 30 people died in Tennessee, Kentucky and Mississippi in the storms that began on May 1 and in the flood aftermath.

Streets in Nashville were lined with ruined furniture, soaked papers and assorted flood detritus, and the city hired a fleet of 80 trucks to haul it all away.

The owner of the flood-damaged Opryland country-music entertainment complex, Gaylord Entertainment Co <GET.N>, has said it will not take reservations for six months to give it time to recover.

Nashville is a popular tourist destination with sites including the Country Music Hall of Fame but officials have given no estimate of lost revenue from visitors.

Month after oil spill, why is BP still in charge? - Yahoo! News

He and Coast Guard Adm. Mary Landry, the federal onsite coordinator, direct virtually everything BP does in response to the spill — and with a few exceptions have received full cooperation, Allen said.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs was even more emphatic.

"There's nothing that we think can and should be done that isn't being done. Nothing," Gibbs said Friday during a lengthy, often testy exchange with reporters about the response to the oil disaster.

There are no powers of intervention that the federal government has available but has opted not to use, Gibbs said.

Asked if President Barack Obama had confidence in BP, Gibbs said only: "We are continuing to push BP to do everything that they can."

BP spokesman Neil Chapman said the federal government has been "an integral part of the response" to the oil spill since shortly after the April 20 explosion.

"There are many federal agencies here in the Unified Command, and they've been part of that within days of the incident," said Chapman, who works out of a joint response site in Louisiana, near the site of the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig.

Darn. I read the title and thought Obama had decided to resign.

Obama will let no opportunity to demonize people on his agenda go to waste. Whether it's Las Vegas, Arizona, BP, Health Insurers, or anyone he can demagogue.

Have I left anyone out?

It seems Obama has covered everyone except minorities and our enemies.
