The Title says it all. :cuckoo:

BOULDER CITY, Nev. — President Obama today powered-up his pitch for more investment in renewable energy technology during a stop at the nation’s largest solar plant, calling Republican opposition out of touch and out of date.“Now you’d think, given this extraordinary sight, given the fact that this is creating jobs, generating power, helping to keep our environment clean, making us more competitive globally. You’d think that everybody would be supportive of solar power,” Obama said before a backdrop of thousands of solar panels soaking up the desert sun.

“And yet, if some politicians have their way, there won’t be any more public investment in solar energy,” he said. “One member of Congress, who shall remain unnamed, called these jobs ‘phony.’ Called them ‘phony jobs.’ Think about that mindset, that attitude, that says because something is new it must not be real. You know if these guys were around when Columbus set sail, they’d be charter members of the flat earth society.”

And the OBVIOUS rebuttal to that whole thing is one word: SOLYNDRA!

Who belongs to the Flat Earth Society, Obama when you can keep talking about "investments" while your slush fund at Solyndra slides off the side of your World?

What does he expect? He's using the power of his office to force technology on an economy that isn't ready for it. It's natural then to blame others for his lack of understanding.

He's intentionally being obtuse knowing full well that anyone with any sense at all will criticize his stupidity......giving him a chance to call them flat-earthers.

The GOP is out of touch?? WOW

Who the hell has wasted millions of hard earned tax dollars on HIS vision of the future?? His green BS??

Barry obviously doesn't give a rats ass if the taxpayer who fund the Govt are paying $5 a gallon for gas and are struggling to pay the bills.

Anyone who thinks Barry gives a shit has his head up his ass.

It's all about him and his agenda. He was told while in college that a violent uprising as he wanted to do wasn't the way...

Well, hopefully most of us could gives shit one about a second term in November.

Obama standing in front of a solar panel array is just the kind of illustration a rational person would deduce of a president that is totally out of touch.

He's telling us what he's up to. Trying to drive the price of gas up.

His argument is not to get the price of gas back down, but telling you to curb your consumption you wasteful gas-guzzling consumers.

He's saying he loves clean air, but not one of those solar panels is going to decrease gas usage thus clean the air. It's totally asinine.

Have you ever stopped to ask why we aren't ready for it? Think the big oil companies and Detroit might have a vested interest in keeping us on oil? Ya' think?

Ever wonder why our mass transit and rail system sucks? Try taking NJTransit from NJ to Penn Station in Manhattan. I might as well ride my bicycle.

FOx Noise is going to distort this whole story because they are owned by the GOP, which is OWNED by the above-referenced industries.

Obama is going down to Cushing Oklahoma due to public pressure & announce that he will finally approve a portion of the oil pipeline. His poll numbers are diving over the high gas prices he has caused. Now he is in panic mode.

So we give up on solar? and wind? and just go back to the path of an ever increasing dependence on an ever more scarce resource,

oil?

Where do the lower energy prices come from in that plan?

The oil companies don't want lower prices, you know. The oil companies want your dependence on oil/gas to allow them to sell it at the highest price they can squeeze out of you.

Wake up.

We need an energy policy. We also need more funding for R&D until they come up with a viable renewable energy plan. People will not chose inferior energy. We need way better battery technology to get wind & solar to ever become viable.

What gasoline crisis?

Supply is at an all time high.

And consumption is low and getting lower.

American refineries are exporting gasoline. SOMEBODY is willing to pay these prices for it.

China is buying it. They are all now paying $4.22 USD at the pump with all that money we sent them. We still import fuel. Global producers are not going to sell to low bidders like US when China is willing to pay way more.

Here...perhaps I could put this into some perspective for the conservatives here....

Lets pretend it's 100 years ago.

Taft calls Democrats out of touch at an automobile plant during yet ANOTHER "hay is too expensive and there's too much horse-shit in the street" crisis.

Way to think in terms of what you're used to.
Good thing our progenitors aren't as limited as you. We'd still be banging rocks together in caves.
