Obama-Biden Lubrication Working! GOP-Like Greece Not Working!

What nation ever had a "balanced budget" requirement? I think there is only one other nation on earth with a debt ceiling. And they don't even pay attention to it.

Government is NOT a business. And if it was..we'd be in trouble. Lots of it.

Government has to deal with emergencies like disease outbreaks, natural disasters, war, crime and a myriad of other challenges there are absolutely no "profit" in. That's why it exists. Trying to hamstring a robust approach to dealing with challenges will lead to big trouble.

But that also has cost. And that has to be paid. By all of us.

What should this figure be?

Government - Interest Expense on the Debt Outstanding

A Trillion? 2 Trillion? What?

I dunno.

First time in history we had a tax cut while starting 2 full shootin' wars.

That's gotta be paid for..

War Bonds?

Think Big Oil will buy in?

Shut down more oil production that will show them.

So, where are all the new "net" jobs created by the wealthy, I mean, "job creators" since the GOP forced Obama to extend the Bush era tax cuts for them?

The senate dems blocked the GOPs bills that would have helped.

Also the dems control the senate and the white house so no one on the right in the govt can "force" them to do anything.

Don't get all hackish on me dude! Lets stay on topic ;).

Which bills would those be, specifically? The GOP (Cantor, Boehner) stated they would NOT work on any additional legislation until Obama extended the Bush era tax cuts for the wealthy, I mean "job creators"....yes?

Sorry about the delay.

here you go

Most Adults in Civilized nations, which are Socialist, know about drag things. Most Adults in Civilized nations, which are Socialist, know about. . .even Greek things.

Austerity is actually sold as a national agenda goal, by the Republican Party. That is the party now famous for the 64 Fantasies: The only House districts with any say in national politics, following Boehner and Cantor. In the Other Greece, austerity creates victims, and its victims regularly demonstrate their displeasure--not their boom-time economic expansion--in the streets.

The outcome of banking gone mad is now being showcased in Europe. It has previously been showcased in the financial debacle that finally started to get addressed by Rep. Frank, of Massachusetts. Who can deny that the right man, at the right time, was at the helm!

Socialist civilization has never been extolled as the absence of accountants. Socialists expect an accounting of rewards from economic activity--directed toward the labor that created the growth. Their wisdom is that rather than austerity, an expanding marketplace--lubricated with purchasing power--can then sort through what works, and then live through what doesn't.

Europe is now starting to shore up the banks of Europe. Business is better when the market is cash-flush.

In the United States, that has recently been labeled "Treason," at the Republican National Debates.

Comparing GOP to Greece is just wrong, wrong, and wrong

Greece is where it is because of massive entitlements, and what do massive entitlements foster? Dependence and lazyiness, we will be Greece if the left gets its way

This isn't a normal recession, it is structural unemployment. Investment in infrastructure is ok to an extent, but investment in private research is a much better option additionally cutting taxes so manufacturing will come back. Starting a sales tax to offset revenues...

The left wants to raise taxes on the rich and big business which is just gonna enhance the problem, and spend spend spend to grow the economy. More money than the new taxes would bring in, by the way, we need to start thinking about spending less than we take in to make the debt managable. All they would do is destroy our currency.... 99wks unemployment, that is ludicrous and shouldn't be tolerated in any society. How people can advocate these policies shows they must not be grounded in reality.

It's not surprising, I have professors telling me debt doesn't matter... So why not spend spend spend.

The SEC under Bush refused to impliment the broker rules for nearly 7 years allowing the banks to hire and whoever they wanted and train them just enough to sell the toxic shit and not enough to understand the toxic shit they were selling

These people knew what they were selling

As a part of the Greek Austerity, then here is what most of Civilization understands when using the concept, "Deficit Reduction." This is what Greece is doing.

Taxes will increase by 2.32bn euros this year, with additional taxes of 3.38bn euros in 2012, 152m euros in 2013 and 699m euros in 2014.

Whereas the Conservative Front-Runners at GOP intend to tax the people with no money to bring about Deficit Reduction--Greece and the Rest of the Planet Actually intend to achieve deficit reduction with increased taxes on the entities and people who have the money.

The Old and New Testaments of the Jews universally do not support riches in the face of widespread impoverishment.

Greece is not reliant on de-regulation as the path to deficit reduction.

Europe is waiting for Greece to deliver on increased tax revenues for deficit reduction.

S&P downgraded USA publically, faulting the Republicans for failing to honor the spending authorizations already on the books--refusing to do deficit reduction.

The Republican Austerity is not supported, shown even on the streets of Greece. Anyone knows that for more money, you create ways to gain from more money.

(Many not happy, now in Streets of The Occupation--Since 1492--with too many keeping and hoarding what billions and trillions there are! Total Net Debt exceeds $52.0 tril. Somebody, somewhere, has at least some of it!)

You know...there should be a law against opening a thread and having "Obama and Biden lubrication working!..." in the title.
It is inhuman.

Only 64 Fantasies, in the U. S. House of Representatives: Are allowed any say in National Law and Policy. Anyone can see how Boehner-Cantor count the votes.

Then anyone notices that Divided Euro-Government is just as dysfunctional as is U.S. Government: In their case Greece, Spain, Portugal, and Ireland. In the United States, the problem is the GOP, divided into 64 Fantasies that shout down all the other 386 districts, The imbalance of the rest of GOP, and then the Democratic voting districts.

Playing by the rules has become dysfunctional, clearly, in most of Western Civilization. Widespread Wealth Worldwide of an anarchy is not what the civilizations are doing at this time.

Minor blips in the econometrics basically mean nothing.

Random walking is not going anywhere.

When the trend is taking us toward a healthier economy, we're all going to see it.

If unemployment went down to 9% or we created more than zero net new jobs I would totally agree with you.

However, we lost more jobs and the percent unemployed did not go down so I call this bad news. Yeah it could have been worse but it still isn't good.

So, where are all the new "net" jobs created by the wealthy, I mean, "job creators" since the GOP forced Obama to extend the Bush era tax cuts for them?

Don't get all hackish on me dude! Lets stay on topic ;).

Even if it is hackish - and I'm not saying it is - but even if it is hackish, it's a valid point.

The initial tax cut came in 2003 and it had zero effect on employment numbers at the time. Subsequent cuts and validations of the '03 cut have also proven impotent.

:dunno: Where's all the tax cut jobs?

Taxes, especially taxes on the wealthy, are at unprecedented lows - according to 'trickle down' theory, unemployment should be at 2% to 3% with signing bonuses for janitors coming out of all that top-end cash-flow.

:dunno: Where are the tax-cut jobs?

Better then expect news.

In any case..it's good news.

If unemployment went down to 9% or we created more than zero net new jobs I would totally agree with you.

However, we lost more jobs and the percent unemployed did not go down so I call this bad news. Yeah it could have been worse but it still isn't good.

Well since so many are looking for a collapse in employment numbers due to government inaction...it hasn't taken place.

I'm in the mind that the stimulus was far to small and in any case the economy is going to need a lot of tweaking before it gets humming again. Standing flat footed and not addressing the problems..is basically a big problem.

Considering we have so much infrastructure in disrepair, there is growing need for new green tech, our transportation, telecommunications and energy grids are in sore need of upgrades...this is the perfect time to get it done.

South Korea has had wireless communications available on their subways for almost a decade. SOUTH KOREA! And New York, just now, wired 30 stops. And that's a major victory.

Really?

It looks like that might be over.
